| Think the best solution is to find a coach and work hard. No point keep trying without knowing what is wrong. | |

| Seriously though, those problems plague all level of golfers (myself too). It's just a question of how bad those problems manifest in our swings | |

| Well.. at least now i am not the only 1 facing this problem.lol...so far my short game is quite oki. Need to work for on long iron like 5 or 6 iron. Currently Sand-8iron my balls is draw/straight to my target. But 7 iron-start to fade and wood at time become slice... what i am doing now i try to keep my head down. Don look up too fast and keep my swing as easy swing... so far so good. Just that at time i tend to exert more force and the swing go hay wired... | |

| Keeping the head down is actually not a good advice.
Instead, learn to shift your weight to your front leg to initiate the downswing. That should help with tops/duff's/pull /hook.

| For ppl like me who tend look up too fast and lead to slice, make it become a habit for not looking up too early.. lol.. For me i wput 70% of my weight on the left foot make it steady and firm when swinging. It work on my short iron.. but when come 7iron and above my ball tend to fade... some ppl told me is my club face is open as a result the ball lost it distance and eventually fade | |

In D-plane, it mean that you club face is closed during impact and your swing path is from out to in. Maybe the d-plane chart below can give you a better understanding why the ball go in different directions; [img] [/img] However, I would suggest that you practice this in the driving range to understand and try to swing from different swing path with club face square, open & close Do not even think about this type of stuff when on the course

| A very interesting and detail diagram. Now i roughly know what went wrong to my long iron.. maybe i should take note of my swing path when using long iron. | |

Is it that you use the "right side swing" as compare to the 50% weight on both legs? If it is not right side swing than can anyone enlighten? cheers

FYI, lie of the club also play a part when your ball slice or hook.
