| Does anyone has experience with travelling on AIRASIA with your golf bag?
I have previously book additional check-in luggage for 20kg to accomodate for my golf bag however i just realised that they seem to have a separate sports equipment charge!
Anyone know do i need to pay another sports equipment charge when my purchased check-in luggage can accomodate?

| For budget airline, you need to purchase sport equipment to check in golf bag. | |

That is correct. Your extra 20kg for check in luggage does not include golf bag. Normally passengers travelling with golf bag can put in lots of other stuff to take the weight off their check in luggages bcos golf bag are charged at a standard rate regardless of weight. If I am not mistaken its $70 two ways.

| Also to add on, even with purchase of Sporting Equipment, the total weight of your golf bag should not exceed 15kg. Got a bad experience once with this..... | |

| Tks for the sharing of experience. Just curious, I read from https://mobile.airasia.com/ask/index.php?id=40 that
"Since a golf set has to be checked in, your golf set: 1.Must be in a recognized golf case 2.Must be in one bag containing nothing more than 14 clubs, one dozen of golf balls, umbrella and one pair of golf shoes 3.Should be of the general and standard dimensions"
Does this mean I should not use those big golf travel cover bags as well? Wanted to use this bag as i cant lock the hood /pockets of my golf bag.

| I used those golf travel cover and it's not an issue as long as total weight does not exceed 15kg | |

| AirAsia charges golf bag separately as sports equipment, about $25. You can stuff in many things like shoes, laundry etc into your golf travel cover, so that your carry on luggage is light enough and you need not pay for another check in luggage.
Scoot is the worst - they charge $50 for your golf bag. Never travel Scoot for golf.
Best is Jetstar. My 20kg allowance includes golf bag, and I can check in another piece of light luggage, as long as total weight is 20kg or less. I travel with a very light stand bag, weighing only 11kg with 12 balls, 14 clubs, so I have another 9kg of clothing and shoes and toiletry.

| All sport equipment need to buy 'Sport Equipment' as they will not allow you to use the add 20kg luggage you bought to check in your golf gear.
