Stricker 1down on 17th. Kaymer goes 1 up into the 18th. Pars by both on 18th allows Europe to retain the cup. Molinari 1 down at 17th to tiger. Tiger misses a last 4 footer for par to win the match. Europe wins 14.5-13.5. Simply amazing. Well worth staying up watching the finals!

Solo games are sooo different. Team Europe were just astounding and the Americans cracked under pressure. When they saw that their early leaders were collapsing, they crumbled. The Ryder Cup seems more intense than other tournaments so it's really difficult to stay focused since you're not playing for $ (which all of these folks already have heaps of). They're playing for pride and honour, which $ cannot buy. It is earned.
