| Can someone expert to advise whether the below computation is correct (based on actual day handicap)? i.e. total of 36pts and how to determine the winner if the score tie... HOLES | INDEX | SCORE | HCP A'WANCE | NET SCORE | STABLEFORD | 1 | 7 | +3 | -1 | 2 | 0 | 2 | 11 | +3 | -1 | 2 | 0 | 3 | 13 | +3 | -1 | 2 | 0 | 4 | 3 | +3 | -2 | 1 | 1 | 5 | 9 | -1 | -1 | -2 | 4 | 6 | 17 | +3 | -1 | 2 | 0 | 7 | 1 | +1 | -2 | -1 | 3 | 8 | 15 | +1 | -1 | 0 | 2 | 9 | 5 | +1 | -2 | -1 | 3 | 10 | 6 | +1 | -1 | 0 | 2 | 11 | 12 | +1 | -1 | 0 | 2 | 12 | 2 | +1 | -2 | -1 | 3 | 13 | 16 | 0 | -1 | -1 | 3 | 14 | 10 | 0 | -1 | -1 | 3 | 15 | 4 | 0 | -2 | -2 | 4 | 16 | 14 | +1 | -1 | 0 | 2 | 17 | 18 | +1 | -1 | 0 | 2 | 18 | 8 | +1 | -1 | 0 | 2 | TOTAL | | 23 | 23 | 0 | 36 |

| 36 pts usually will get you close to winning a prize. Though I have seen on countless occasions 40+ pt winners attributing to having an incredible day or are just buayas. | |

| True Stableford is based on your personal Handicap.
Corporate and Charity day Stableford is calculated on the day and allocates you a handicap for that day, they are a little different.

| Here how Stableford Point was calculated
Score +2 or more = 0 point +1 = 1 point Par 0 = 2 points Birdies -1 = 3 points eagles -2 = 4 points
Whatever your handicap - you should be looking to score a minimum of 36 points (2 points per hole x 18 holes). If you score 36 points, then you are playing to your handicap. If you score less than 36 you game was below your handicap. If you score more, then you were playing better than your handicap.
Anything around 43 to 45 points or more - means your a bandit...or just improving quickly:)
Examples 18 Handicap Player
If Mr Steve (me) is an 18 Handicap Golfer I will receive one shot per hole.
Par 3 Example
I should take 4 shots to complete a Par 3, as I receives one shot per hole. If I plays +1, I would have played 4 and get 2 points. If I plays 0 (i.e. par), I would have played one under my awarded shots and therefore I would get 3 points. If I plays a -1 (Birdie), I would have played 2 under my awarded shots and would get 4 points.
I understand it is a good system to use if we do not know player actual HCP

bro 36 pts are usually comprise of how many bird, pars and bogeys? to score >40, does that require a gross score of under par (under net hdcap)? how many under?

| It's base on the index of the hole compare with your handicapt and the actual par for your handicapt
Net Double - 0 Pts Net Bogey - 1 Pts Net Par - 2 Pts Net Birdie - 3pts Net Eagle - 4pts
To win a tournament 38 -45pts depending on the division you are .

| firstly, you need to know what system is used to determine your actual day handicap
based on bullrun's method of calculating handicap, everyone will get 36 points

| Interesting system. But can anyone elaborate how to calculate number of strokes for each handicap? If 18hcp gets 1 stroke allowance per hole, then what about a hcp 9? | |

| I guess so. I don't even know how the indexing system works with regard to my hcp even I always just look at the P.A.R. per hole. | |

Every scorecard has hole index. 1 being hardest, 18 easiest. Based on the 9 handicap... index 1-9 you are expected to bogey, thus giving you 2 points per hole, you do better you get more points, index 10-18 you are expected to par. Again giving you 2 points. Do not confuse True Stableford with the Charity day calculations....

i want to venture a guess...is she from OCC? Not the lady that got a hcp of 23.9? no that lady is smart...she usually go as low as 8-9 under. 11 is overkill liao why would one want to do that? If good and I mean legit good, then its a proud and honorable thing to do .....then say good la. Still don get it why one is like that. I too am trying to be a 23.9 hcp

| That's why system 36 stableford is fairer bcos your hc will be determined by your score o that day. So far, it's quite close to one hc.

Not sure how one arrive at a handicap allowance of 23, unless this was based on some peoria system where the handicap is calculated on some blind holes that is unknown to all players. Using a system 36 to calculate the actual day handicap with this score, System 36 points = 17 (2 for par or better, 1 for bogey, 0 for dbl bogey or worse) Actual day hcap = 36 - 17 = 19 So all hole get 1 stroke, except index 1 get 2 strokes. Based on net scores, Sys 36 points = 32 (net eagle 4, birdie 3, par 2, bogey 1, dbl bogey or worse 0) Quick way to check is that there are 5 gross triple bogeys or worse: (36 - 5) = 31 Plus 1 gross birdie (+ 1 point) = 31 + 1 = 32 (check) If wrong, someone pls correct me.
