Suggestions for the Forum

Can have those Trader counter and anonymous feedback like the ones in Ebay? To help people to assess if the person they are trading is helpful or giving good and genuine deals

there is a reputation system that we can activate when necessary. It is currently not very meaningful as we have ppl representing reputable shops in the sales and promotion forum and the rest are normally one-off kind of personal sales. That i believe, do not require a reputation counter.

importantly, we want to keep this forum as a platform for discussions, meet new people and share ideas. we do not want it to become a golf classifieds

Another suggestion:

- May be automatically generated note to members that hasnt login to site over prolong period of time i.e. 3-6 months so that we can continue to have them back.

I am not too sure if this is a good idea though....

I do receive such mails from forums that I no longer go to and i just ignore or junk it. Find them more of a nuisance than reminder. I personally don't like such reminder mails. I am not sure about others.

Basically, there are reasons why ppl drop out of a forum. People do come and go. Such reminders hardly serve any purpose in my opinion...

I was just wondering if it is possible to have a "New Posts" function or some thing similar. One of the forums I read has this (for logged in users only), and if I am out of action for a few days, I can easily catch up on all the new postings.

I use "Latest topics" but I find that the postings on this forum are very fast and frequent, so if I am not logged in for a day, I know I will need to browse everywhere for interesting posts.

Just wondering if this is not too much work. Thanks!

Make the forum readable on Mobile devices. I visit the forum on my PDA Phone and it is difficult to read having to scroll horizontally. Also, Pocket IE renders the font as black and totally unreadable against a dark gray background. Responding to forum post is also impossible. Wonder if the forum engine has a lo-fi version as well.

unfortunately not.

golfwrx has a group of programmers customising their forum which we do not have. Our forum features are from the hosting company that customise for all their clients. I could put up a request but that may take a while or may not come at all.

It has rss which is as good as lo-fi. But for viewing only and not responding

If you are talking about a list of events for GR, im afraid there isnt such list yet.
Perhaps you can just keep a look out for threads at "Golf Republic Official Events" sub-forum for upcoming events.

As of now, we try to meet up on every Wednesday 730pm at MBGC Rooftop, and a monthly game on every 3rd week's Sunday PM at various JB courses.

wat i mean is a list of events pre-planed/focus, so that i don't miss out like the warren charity game just my 2 cent worth
