| Hi guys , new to GR and recently i got cheated online by some US website that was selling PING clubs at a low price of $399 and upon receiving it i realized it was a knock-off and quality was horrible and feels horrible as well. Really disappointed as i was unable to get a refund and have just lost a few hundred dollars Any advice from fellow GR mates here? Whether i can sell off to any company and gain back some money? Is there a singapore golf association where i could report this and get some justice done? Demoralized. | |

| Dude, I feel sorry for you.
Did you pay via PayPal? If you did, you may be able to check if there's some form of buyer protection. This exists with trades done on eBay but I'm not sure how you did yours. If not, I don't think that there's much you can do to recover your money.
What I would do is to report the matter to Ping. The point isn't to ask them to compensate you - that's quite unlikely but at least, they can record the seller's site on their list of fake sellers and perhaps take action against them. But there are many of such sites out there so how much effort Ping will take is not certain.
Unfortunately, you aren't the first to have fallen prey to such scammers and you won't be the last either. There are many sites selling knock offs. What you do take away from all this is to be more cautious in the future. I admit that it's a painful lesson but it could have been more expensive.
One other thing to note (as an aside) is that if you paid via credit card, I'd change passwords and possibly the credit card as well. You never know how far these scammers go.

| I purchase stuff online quite a bit and the first thing to do is to call your credit card company to dispute this charge against your card.
Next, if you paid via Paypal, lodge a complaint straight away in the hope that Paypal will freeze the funds in the seller's account to prevent a dissipation of monies paid.
Then write to the seller to dispute the authenticity of the club, and document all your emails etc - the CC company and Paypal will want to have these on record.
After that, leave it to the CC company and Paypal to investigate. No guarantee of successful outcome but its worth a shot, and it cost you nothing......

I usually call the CC company and state that payment was made to an online merchant but actual goods purchased not delivered, and that goods that I did not order arrived (ie. goods delivered did not match the description of the item I ordered and paid for). For me, this is enough for the CC company to put a temp halt to payment. Sometimes, I say that the transaction online was fraudulent - which is the truth becos fraud was involved when knock-oofs were sent instead.

Notwithstanding, you should try. If I know these large scale scammers, they always keep their paypal accounts open as their online sales are continuous. They are unlikely to be one-off scammers involved in a single or few transactions, so it is highly likely that they need their paypal account up and running during the 2 week period or longer to receive monies from other victims - contact Paypal and get this account frozen.

If you used your credit card, you cans till call your bank to dispute it. I have done so even up to 1 month of the transaction. All the best in getting justice done!

All the best in getting justice done! It is typically not based on elapse time after the transaction but XX days from the statement date to dispute. So if u have not received this transaction in your statement, the cc issuing bank should review your request. Good luck!

| pls note that dispute has a time period. anything after the time frame is "game over". dispute most of the time can file 2x and that is the end of the "time frame". 1x file and 1x appeal file.
also, dispute can goes as high as abitration (something like court where both bank has). discuss with your bank dispute specialist.
it is pain taking and time consuming. most of the time the filer can "give up". your disputing should be a "charge back request due to goods not deliver as ordered". beware of little fine print in the merchant website, it is not to your advantage.
basically if you do win the dispute, your bank will "take the money from the merchant and return to you". (check if got any fee involve as once i have a friend that pay more fee then the dispute".
in future, find out from your bank that the card you are using have what type of coverage , including insurance. so instead of filing dispute, you can file insurance claim. this is less pain taking.
lastly, if you are able to own a USA bank credit card, it will be the best as most of them have insurance coverage and zero libility. i use to buy usa gift card from online purchase in the state in my older days. now no more.
