commercial vehicle driving into malaysia..

so can i or can i not drive commercial vehicles into malaysia?

u can but u need to apply .....

u'll need to go to JPJ (LTA equivalent for M'sia ) fill up a stack of forms and bring along ur own company registration plus your malaysian company registration too .
fees : rm$100

on top of all this your driver need to have a malaysian commercial driving license.

if u check with malaysian high commission they will tell u to go muar police station but MHC din update for long time already

there is alot of red tape involved

hm... i am considering to get a land rover... its more of personal use... seems too much if a hassle...

Remove the back seats of your car and you have a commercial vehicle!

THose cheong sua one must have special permits aka special events. Such events will have police escort. Next time be specific lah... I thought you want to drive van into malaysia.

Let me OT a bit and provide a note of caution.

4WD vehicles are high in demand. They are considered to be just as valuable as luxury vehicles, and perhaps even more so. This is because 4WD vehicles are sturdy and can be sent to the middle of a jungle or an oil palm estate, never to be seen again. When they are there, road tax, insurance etc are not even considered. Once taken, they are rarely (if ever) found.

very true and i already had that in my mind. and now i am also trying to cover the legal aspect of driving one to malaysia as well.

i think u can register as a S-plate, if not all diesel VW sedans will be g plate... i could be wrong better check with LTA

If you go along NSHW, you can always spot those highway patrol, which are normally yellow in colour. Those are the one that will stop you if you are a singapore registered G plate.

think the Defender is already registered as a commercial vehicle here... maybe I should go down to the showroom and ask...
