The Ball will pop up and check on the green +1 4 metres of green is quite a lot to work with. 4 metres of fairway is too much to putt.... In addition to the punch shot with a lofted club, you'll need low bounce. My PW is 49/7 (loft/bounce). It works very well for me in this 4+4 situation. I open the clubface slightly and punch down lightly, keeping the clubface open through the swing. I also ensure my left wrist stays in front of the clubhead with no flipping of wrists throughout. I usually aim to cover about 70-80% of total distance and let it roll about 20-30%.

| imho e bump and run first choice and putting second... jon's recommendation using 54/56 is by far the most elegant solution but me oso like Technospaz sure curse myself after for duffing or topping ball to the other side of the green and w my luck probably into a sandbunker... | |

| on apron, it's better to putt than chip because chances of making mistake is lesser. | |

| I usually open my 58* club face, weight on the left foot and do a half swing. | |

| if almost flat entrance into green, rescue club, chip and run, bumb and run all can.
If elevated green and no choice but must chip, this one have to go and find out which method is best for you and practice it.
For me, I open my 56* short back swing, accelerate through with high finish. Works wonders. But if i apply the same to my 60*, all sorts of problems appear.
There are many ways to skin a cat or kill a chicken, best is to find out which one works for you and stick to it.
