| I carry the Ping Tour W wedge. 54/10. I like it very much, nice versatile wedge. Traditional head shape looks great at address.
Only thing is the AWT shafts feel slightly different; seems better for a fly-high/land soft type of shot than a knock-down wedge shot. | |

| Hi.
I've been a fan of Ping wedges ever since I got an ISI sand wedge from the WRX dept years ago. Since then I have played Ping wedges in some form or other. You will find that there are still many loyalists out there who love their Eye2, iWedge, M/B wedge and of course the Tour-W wedges. I can't say for sure why I prefer the Ping wedges over the Vokey Spin Mills, or Cleveland Zip Grooves (I've played them as well) but I can tell you a few things from my personal experience. 1. I agree with the opinion that the Tour-W's do not spin as much as the Spin Mills or Zip Grooves. Even for a die hard Ping wedge fan like me. 2. I have found that Ping wedges work the best out of bunkers for me. In fact, I'd rather be in the bunker than off a really tight lie 15 feet from the pin. No wedge gives me more confidence than Ping wedges out of bunkers. 3. I find that the bounce numbers on Ping wedges are a little bit different from everyone else, but somehow, it seems to work just fine on most of our fairways, for me. 4. While I am quite an equipment junkie, I find it really hard to kick Ping wedges out of the bag for me. I still have the older Ping M/B wedges but I no longer own any of my Vokeys or Clevelands.
Finally, wedges are really very, very personal. In some cases, more so than putters. What I am sharing is just my opinion which is based on my angle of attack and chipping or bunker techniques, psychology, brand preference, etc. What works for me, may not work for you, and vice versa. Good luck.
