Bring back the monthly games.

Any thoughts to bring back the monthly games we used to have?

I think its awesome to have monthly game
A small competition and gathering for golf enthusiast will be nice.

Any suggestion on how to 'bring' it back?

I don think it went away to start with.....just taking a break I think. But any suggestion will be great

you guys can start with creating a list of participants

i'm a newbie, dont think anybody will join if i organise 1 LOL

Sounds like fun. I would be game for some of those. Sounds like a cool way to play some golf with some buddies and play in some events.

Were these popular? High levels of participation??

Sharing my thoughts :

Why monthly games: as many said, it's good to put a face behind the nicks. For some, to check out the proficiency of others against one self. But above all, to have a sense of belonging to the group or to this forum

The challenge: though I did not personally or directly been involved, but the organizer/s job is huge and this is on top of one's actual job.so what sort of challenge???

Eg. Participation ....understandably....there are those who bail out last min and give challenge to bookings and $ collection. Thank less job......if Kena rain....then all PR stop need to be put in place to pacify the many.

The forum is getting bigger with diversified background....this is a good thing...I think we need some to step up and be point to various diversified groups.

Concern abt skill level is also another factor which deter some newbie......if they buaya, that's ok as it won't be a deterrent. But genuine newbie kinda hesitate....

A lot of people are keen. All we need is just few guys coming together to do it. It's not difficult. Just need time.

I also suggest if possible we do different courses every month. Perhaps the less played ones like nsrcc or kranji ?? Haha. Just to add a bit more spice into it...

Also. We gotta split the players into divisions la.. I can't be playing together with guys like slinger or coast guy man.

I believe the monthly game used to be played a lot at kranji. That's where I met most of the GR peeps.

Reason why it fizzled out mainly cos of the weekend voucher system which is now awarded only when one person pays full price. Previously it used to be that the vouchers were almost free. Even when using the voucher u get another one.

If I recall... the GR monthly games are usually held in JB courses and during Sunday PM.

Main reason being... its less crowded and cheaper green fees. The turnout are always good, usually in the range of 50-80 pax. The mods who organize the game may also sometimes arrange for a after game dinner so everyone can mingle around and get to know each other.

Its been awhile... Time to arrange again!!! Let me know if I can be of any help!

Too clarify some issues.

Those days when we play Kranji was not our monthly games. It just so happen that our NSRCC bros have vouchers and was nice to share with the forumers.

Due to cost, our monthly games are organised in Johore on Sunday afternoon.

Our June/December Anniversary/Charity games are normally in Singapore.

To kick start or reviving the monthly game, I have spoken to Legend this morning to check on their package.

The details are:

RM145. This include green fee/buggy and 7 course Chinese dinner.
This package is applicable if we have 40 golfers.

As June is too soon to organise how about we do it in early July (8th July)?
