Don''t need to retire lah becos if that is the case there will be no more golfers. Beginners will be the first to retire even before getting a chance to improve. Most beginners when they first start playing at a course they tend to lose quite a few balls. I would say that most beginners have fear of water and can't get it across if its too wide. So its better to buy second hand balls for your games unles you prefer new balls and don't mind spending it.

I lost like 7-8 balls during my third time on course at RCC Palm course a record for me. Kaki was encouraging instead of asking me to go fly kite. that's one of the reason I enjoy golf, encouraging kakis. But than again if I am slowing them down and the behind flight is catching on, I will just pick up the ball and go. Now lost ball ave range from 1-4, at times more. Yet to play a round without lost ball I m sure every newbie gone thru that. Don't lose heart!!!

| Depending on course, new course can lose up to 8 balls. Old normally abt 3-4 but on bad day can really lose quite a lot still, occasionally 1-2.
@sunnydaze, my 1st time on RCC palm. I really lose a lot of balls been it had a lot of hidden water if you had not played there before, but recently played not too bad, I think only 1-2 only now know how to siam the water trap.....

| depends on the course... but lately around 0-2 balls on familiar course. New challenging course can be as much as 6-10. Although it also depends on playing style and whether driver is working for day or not.. cheers, | |

| Actually, course management re v important. Read each hole layout n decide on yr strength n feel on tat day game. ie: 1) if u think yr driver re inconsistant n fairway narrow, use4-5woods or hybrid. 2) mid fairway there s a water hazard, go fr a layout near WH instead, so tat u re creatg a greater changes to carry over than tryg to attack useg yr 3/4/5woods. Bcoz higher percentage of duff, top, slice etc as yr mind ll tell u to force (hit harder) yr shot. My worse nightmare happen was when ball landed on thick rough yet cant find!! | |

Whoaaa..bro, you mean you never start as a beginner ahh...? Straight away became an average golfer the 1st time you hit a golf ball???? You king leh... I played 8-9 years already and I still occassionally lose about 4-5 balls on a difficult unfamiliar course. Maybe thats why I will stay as a Seasoned Beginner forever. titu

Oh no!!! I think I lost more than 5 balls in a single hole before... does that mean I have to retire 18 times But if pros can lose 3 balls into the water on the 17th at the Players, I figure I should still be alright

| some ppl are born with talent that they became single handicap on day one, cangkul all the way (no lost ball mah.. only 10 meter what?).. either those or they only play simulation golf..
Not sure which one fits to our friend up there... hope fully the first one so that he can become an inspiration to many, although such talent must be extremely rare....

Even 3 times major winner can do this on a par 3.

| If any of you ever have a chance to come up to KL, try the Bukit Utama 9-hole course. Your story may change. | |

| Thanks Hkhamateur!
there are a lot of tough course in the world.. well if we talk about Asia some of the notable course that I played and been humbled are 9 dragon hills and phoenix hills Shenzhen, Citic C course Shantou...
I also still vividly remember someone who publicly said he will throw all his club away and quit golf if he played like me. well guess what, I beat him on a game with the same audience when he made the statement not long after with the help of the golfing gods (52 + 37 on white MBGC, bet he didn't see it coming, cause neither do I !!! ). Damn those were sweet indeed....
