| Background: Club Monthly Medal
I recently completed my home club monthly medal. I am playing to Hcp 13 to home course. Completed my round in the morning. I am so happy with my score (using AP2 reshafted with KBS shafts..tks to Eric) of 80 which is 5 under in my Division. Total Stableford points is 41. All my kakis say I have chance to win.
To my disappointment, I only come in 7th. The top 3 are:
Hcp 17 - Stableford Points of 47 Hcp 17 - Stableford Points of 45 Hcp 17 - Stableford Points of 43 , etc
If I am not wrong, to get 47 points, one must play about 11 under par, 45 points is 9 under par..
Just to ask forumers here... how often (if possible) to get such good score? or are they simply BUAYAs!!!!

| hahhaa bro mengteck, it's very common i think... i dun even bother for the results if i play the MM for my home club... too many under declare hcp of bogus score... i hear so often from many experience players tht for stableford pts, norm it is already very high for scores of 39..... even yr 41pts got abit of "buayaness" in it. (hahah juz joking).. so whenever i saw many "good" players having their "career" golf on the same day with so many of them playing to the SF score of >40 n even 47?!!!! i juz laugh..... thgt golf is gentlemen game...... | |

| Lots of buayas out there. My home club has a few too. Everyone knows who they are. Their names often appear in the prize list... supposedly high HC but killer scores. | |

I think the rule at my home club is that if you win a tourney and you play below your HC, your HC immediately drops by 2.

| Football has divers.....Golfers has Buayas......Mahjong has 'shadowless hands'
My 2cents....what differentiate Buayas to the Divers and 'Shadowless hands'
For me, buayas if they are really good ones, will attract and retain golfers (suckers like me)

| They usually wun get anywhere. People will soon realize that they are buayas and perhaps even stop playing with them. Even if they play together, its all the superficial talk with the gossips flying around after the game. Just play your own game. and Have FUN.. | |

| In a Stableford, any score above 40 is a rare score. For score above 40 but below 43 is acceptable luck. 43 to 45 appear only once in 5 event. Above 45 is consider as a shame! But in local and malaysia monthly medal, above 45 always appear in stableford play. Maybe local golfers always improve their skill over night? | |

| i think the price no really solid... the lucky draw price is better...
wonder if you guys notice, all those competition (not for the pro's) the prizes for lucky draw is always better then the champ or runner up prizes.....
it juz shows even the organizers oso know and cant do anything abt it...

it juz shows even the organizers oso know and cant do anything abt it... But the champs want the prestige, not the prizes.

| Here in Vietnam is even worse. Scorecards are exchanged at the end of the round for checking by fellow flight mates and the locals will just outright tell you no need it is ok. how can a person with a registered handicap of 18 get a score of -10 / round of 62??? | |

| Sigh.. guess asians are like tat (i may be wrong). I heard in US, those people will always declare their hcp as their best score even if it was once in a lifetime score. | |

| Pls correct me if I'm wrong but isn't HCP calculated by the best (adjusted by course index) score of the previous 4 or 5 games played by a person?
So if that's the case, is it possible that before a competition/monthly medal, a person plays 4 games and practices off the blue tee - resulting in not so good scores in order to buaya?
just my half a cents worth...

| It's about integrity.
The Buayas and Buayis are always there because they simply don't have the above.
