Golf @ Istanbul (Picture Intensive)

I was in Istanbul last week for business and managed to squeezed in two games. In general, Istanbul has 3 golf courses, i.e. Klassis, Istanbul and Kemer. Klassis is supposed to be highly rated but unfortunately, it is too far away from city centre, thus I didn't get the chance to play.

I played Istanbul Golf Club on the first day of arrival and weather was great in the afternoon. I learned that IGC is like an Army course and we have to surrender our ID at the entrance. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this course because it only has par 3 and 4 althought the course is quite well maintained. By the way, it is a walking course.

I then played Kemer Golf and Country Club on the second day and this club is quite exclusive. The course is situated in the woods surrounded by houses all over. It is a members course but fortunately they allow visitors. the green fee + buddy came up to S$140 per pax.

Overall, Istanbul is very well developed city and traffic can be quite bad. I don't really like the food except for Kebahs and we had a gala dinner on a boat that cruised round the harbour. It was FREAKING FREEZING!!!!

Overall the course is very well maintained. It is not a very long course even playing off the championship tees (yellow tees) but the fairway is tight on most holes.

I was not into golf yet when I visited Istanbul years ago. Good info. Course looks nice but fairways seem tight.

Istanbul, a beautiful city with lots of history. Chaotic though.

Chaotic in terms of traffic, yes. Other than that, it is a very nice city. I went to a club known as Reina and it is very happening.

A great city mixture of old and new architecture but I haven't tried of golfing in that place.
