| Hi all,
anyone here actively golf on your travels?
Can recommend travel bags that you use?
I owned a mega hardcase bag and it cracked due to rough handling by the airline.
Im looking for a new one and it seems there is not many choice.
Bag boy has a hard case one but its not balanced.
Porterline bags are good but i cannot convinced myself to blow $400 on a bag that will be flung around.
Thanks for your feedback

| Andrew, get the S-Yard travel bag from Transview. Cheap and practical. Big enough for cart bag or young gals (above 18) for overseas shipping | |

meaning the golf bag is the travel case itself.. means its material is harder than normal golf bag.. with the top cover hard to protect the longer clubs

| honestly, its quite hard to break the clubs lah... what i normally do is pack the driver, 3 wood and hybrid together and i use a towel to wrap around the shafts...
never had an issue so far...

| Bro Andrew. Travel bags must ask me. I have 4 since. From the super cheap 40 bucks wilson one to the TM and Callaway and lastly, for the last 2 years I have stuck with the OGIO Straight Jacket.
I fly with my 9.5'' cart bag about 12-15 times a year and all the previous bag cannot tahan more than 5 trips except the OGIO.
Like what Shams said, OGIO travel bags are really solid. I got mine from Golf House in Taka. The Straight Jacket was about 200+ SGD I recalled. Straight Jacketis good for maximum a 9.5" bag, with some space left for a pair of shoes and some shirts. It has a hardboard backing at the base. The fabric used is solid and I cant see any tears or wears for the last dozen trip with this. Many design to choose from as well. With my cart bag, some golf balls and 14 clubs, the whole setup with the Straight Jacket weights less than 15kg.
The down side is this Straight Jacket cannot stand on its own, so I usually let it lie on the floor during check ins or smoke breaks. The two wheels it has is goo for pulling, smooth.
For the hard core tour player style bags, you have to go with Sham's OGIO mammoth. That one is solid cos it has four wheels for you to wheel around the airport but it is very heavy and on the large side of things. Dont buy too heavy travel bags unless you do not intend to check in your luggage.
Lastly, the Straight Jacket CONFIRM can keep you inside. But I am not sure can fit your sports car.....

| mr tang,
a person of your ka-li-ber, sure got 2nd set laying around....
why not build that 2nd set for travelling.....
since i got the callaway fit and r9 woods..... i simply detach the heads from the shafts n put in my carry-on bag
it also save space in golf bag which in turn allows me to just get a decent size travel bag....
unless u travel 1st class AND got conceige service at the airport, pulling those huge travel case can be quite an inconvenience..... considering your physique (cos u aint no sham)
if u are equipment sensitive, then no choice lor, buy those hardy travel case.....
i never bring my primary set when travelling..... jmho
