I used to swing somewhat like tat some time ago...

So why not if i can strike the ball more accurately and cleaner....

By the time you learned enuff from him, you might have to stick and live with his Octopus-Dropping-from-the-tree swing style for a long time unless you are willing to spend a long time to change back to a textbook swing.

Having said that, it ain't easy to pickup his unorthodox swing style and he prolly borne with such unique and unconventional swing.

It can still be learned but to excel in it is totally a different situation.

A resounding YES as my swing is already a carbon copy of his swing. So learning the exact complete swing of it completes the whole process...muahahhahhahahh

Of course it's a yes, U may not be swinging like him but surely can learn his short game and his course management as well.

i am copying that similar swing and got a lot more power and even better consistency for the driver and woods.

...good for ppl that cannot swing back on plane (eg fat ppl with large man boobs with no flexibility, like myself)..its better than the reverse C to facilitate the back swing (as learnt from the TPI video). reminds me of baseball even cricket swing..and there are lots of fat old guys playing in that sport. Golf actually is a more physically demanding sport needing power, skill, flexibility, mental, endurance...and the most important, that delicate touch for putting.

but then again, i am a lousy player so this is just a quick fix.

but Furyk is a quite vertical....

Make good sense.
After watching all the pros, may it be chippy, putting or driving.
A lot of unorthodox style still can win tournaments.
