| I won't call myself deadly from 100m and in, but on a good day, I am pretty decent from 120m and in (9 iron and below).
ZX, you gave me a good tip on the driving range that day, allow me to try to return the favour. Why don't you try swinging your irons with a 3/4 or 80% backswing with smooth downswing and accept the distance for each iron? You might be surprised at the result. Of course, if it does not work, can always go back to your current swing.

It's haunting me now. I think this is a great tactic from ZX. He intentionally plays poorly on Saturday, and then focuses the attention on some poor sod (i.e. me) so that he can strike later. Much like Velociraptors except that this hunter goes solo

| Am fairly ok w distance of 95-110m in, dun have anything to measure dispersion but from naked eye, around +/-15m around pin for bad shots Problematic distances are 30m to 95m, worse if the lie is downhill.
Chipping around green apron (Typical green speed of 8-9) -Ratio changes if green is sanded out or speed increases (This is difficult part) -Seldom chip with 8i and 7i unless at front apron and back pin far far away
58 - Chip ratio: 1 to 1 52 - Chip ratio: 1 to 2 P, 9i - Chip ratio: 1 to 3 8i - Chip ratio: 1 to 4 7i - Chip ratio: 1 to 5

My ex boss is almost 60, plays single, and he swings so slow and smooth on the iron... You wonder how he gets his balls to fly... But fact is it's the contact, not the brute strength... If you can get that good contact, you don't need full swing and brute strength.. Just good contact, and easier from 3/4 swing..

Hope to learn a bit more on this... HIHI
Honestly though I have been playing decently (below 16) for all these years, I'm really weak with the hardware and technicalities..
I won't say I hook (else my friends will call me a hooker) but just for some clubs I tend to draw very much to the left...
He changed my P and 9 iron to nspro steel.. Accordingly, my swing is strong and the graphite is too light for me..Both hitting straight now, though i must say the steel cut my distance of the 2 clubs by say about 5m..
My 7 woods was too whippy too.. Changed to a stiff and heavier graphite and its been flying straight as well... Distance a bit shorter perhaps cos I don't draw so much now, to about 170m..
Overall I'm happy with the change, like all said before, it's how you arrive....
Hope this helps.. chien a lot of golfers use shafts that are too stiff for them at the same time loads of them use shafts that are too weak. in fact about a month ago, we have a korean customer who has the wrong shaft (too weak) in his iron set and driver shaft (too heavy and stiff). after the rationalisation and change, he can now have the same swing for every club. this resulted in his first eagle feat (par 5, two-on and one putt). he is one happy camper. Now you are talking!!!!! Yes, one game doesn't. Two games also not. But you are a regular repeater of good games. And when I say good, I don't mean sub-90 score. If I got a sub-90 score, I'd buy lunch for the flight!
