| hi, got this question from some friends and been pondering. There have been rather many wedges shafts in the market such nspro, dg spinner, kbs, etc. Not sure which one should be the best of it all or better feel?? | |

| I've had the TT S400, NSPro 950, KBS T90, DG Spinner in my wedges over the years, and like the Spinners best. I found the S400 too heavy while the KBS T90 was a touch light. | |

| the DG Spinner is supposed to impart the most spin among the current crop of wedge-specific shafts. but how much spin also depends heavily on your swing speed and impact position, among others.
Perhaps someone who is more well-versed in such matters can help shed more light...

| I have tried DG Spinner and now the PXI Wedge shaft... I feel for me i prefer the PXI's as i am more confident in taking full wedge approach shots into the green.
DG Spinners for me just doesn't have that feel when am taking a full shot into the green.
Around the greens... the PXI and DG Spinners work the same for me
I have 2 sets of Vokey SM4's Lie, Loft & Bounce all the same

| have a look at what's in DGMan's bag. he should be able to recommend a shaft fitted for your playing characteristics.

| one of the most underrated shaft in the market is the FST Hi-Rev (makers of KBS). its stepless and the spin is great. best of all its inexpensive.
i will get one fitted out on a lob wedge so that you guys can pit it against the usual DG, the DG spinners, the KBS tour.
it should be ready by this weekend.

| Im using SteelFiber i95 for my current iron sets. Which wedge shaft is more suitable for me? Currently I have two wedges fitted with KBS Tour and DG S400 I felt the one with KBS is heavier compared to DG S400. I dont have consistency using both wedges, thinking if changing to a lighter shaft may help.
Can anyone advise? | |

| I've just tried the KBS Hi-Rev Stiff (by FST) and they're pretty good. I've also tried the DG Spinners in the past but didn't quite like them. | |

this shaft looks heavier then KBS Tour. Heavier shaft is better for wedge?

I guess it depends on the golfer. Some prefer heavier shafts as they want to feel the weight of club. Others prefer lighter shafts as they feel that they can work the club better.

| i think its hard to compare unless u use the same club head with different shafts
cos the weight of the club head will directly affect the swingweight and hence 'feel' of the entire wedge
i've tried my TM zTP wedge with the stock DG shaft as well as DG spinner. For this wedge, the stock shaft is definitely much better. the spinner just felt clumsy prob due to the added weight at the butt end. I also just ordered a NSpro 1050 wedge shaft and I'll be fitting it into my TM rac (which is similar to TM zTP), so i'll be able to compare once it arrives
i've also tried my callaway 2012 forged wedge in stock as well as KBS xstiff shaft. i preferred the KBS
Finally I have my Nakashim lob wedge in PX 5.5 and i love it.
Based on my above rojak testing, thus far the PX 5.5 feels the best. but it may well be simply due to the combination with the Nakashima head

| I tried them all and I am seeing a lot of different result with different players with different swing type. It is best to see a good, quality fitter and let him analuze your swings. He will look at all aspects of your swing, not only ow you swing the ball.
However for myself, I like the NS Pro Modus, KBS and PXi for my lower lofted wedge but I stick with DG Spinner for my lob wedge. I don't particularly like the feel, but it gives me good result. I'll stick to it until I find a better replacement. Just my 2cents.

| does the iron set have effect on the wedge? can play light r-flex graphite in P then suddenly ur 52 is a S400 steel shaft? Reason is i see so many ppl having this combo...and they also use the 52 for approach shots. the S400 is a very common stock wedge shaft. | |

I am playing PXi 5.0 hard-stepped once in my BFG iron 5-9 and 5.5 in my P. for my BFG wedges, I put PXi 6.0 in my 51 and 55 and DG Spinner Wedge in my 59. Works wonder.

| DG Spinner for me.
On my previous MP T-11 and current fishy wedges, provided for exceptional feel and added spin, IMO.

| Project X 5.5 ( non-flightened) with SM4 . It create a better flight control especially trying to hit in between distance with lower flight such as knock down shot. | |

Previously my iron shaft was DG r300, changed it a few months back and noticed I have better distance and consistency with lighter shaft. So thinking if it would works the same with wedges... Thanks for the feedback folks, looks like it is common to use heavier and stiffer shaft for wedges....will visit a fitter soon
