| but I'm helping....if asahi wanna go away from the game for a while. swing racket instead of club. I think, for once, CCC will beat Asahi.
we went through this phase la. Try pursue happy golf.
Last year starting with the Lo Hei, then Bad Boys matches, GR league etc I really put seriousness into this sport. Practice a lot, lessons, matches etc. My game did improve because of that, but right now I'm just really enjoying holiday golf and found that I could still play decent.

| I think it's burn out. If I am not wrong, u played loads of golf in 2011. Y don u take a break from the game? go play a bit of soccer, try training for a running event, or maybe find a gal to date and hopefully to spend ur life with?
Golf sud be a part of your life, but it shouldn't be, your life. Go find the reason y u took up this game in the first place?
Oh yes. Try tennis, with the 25 kid. His tennis ntrp rating is 3-3.5. What does this mean? It's means he is good in tennis.

| Asahi, I personally think that after our friendly 25 incident, playing golf with others simply has not provided you with the same emotional satisfaction......which is why all your pent-up frustration is released as anger as opposed to pleasure.....i can't guarantee you the same levels of ecstacy if we were to play again, but i'm sure you'll enjoy it all the same and help you find your golf mojo again........
On a serious note, i too have gone through a similar funk as i'm being consistently being beaten and am not playing anywhere near my past standards......been losing money and losing sleep.....but there's always hope......in my last game, i still shot poorly but there were holes where my drives were straight, my irons crisp and putts rolled true.......and that's what makes me want to continue fighting my swing.....the hope that the next shot will be better, the next round will be my best and that tomm is the day that I finally figure out this game for which we've built a one-way love affair (and accepted that golf will never love me as much as i love golf)........
so my ex-BB (who only plays well after the match has been decided), hold on to hope, cause that's all we have..........

3. About to hit 2nd shot, auntie from adjacent shouted loud, "found my ball!". Proceeded to shank. Affected, Gave up playing for that par-5. Recorded a 10.
All 3 example cited happened In 3 different games. I seem to hv lost my cool and golf mojo to play golf. What gives? Anyone with similar experience? How to get it back? i can deduce that you have broken 80 in probably 1 or more of your games high expectation led to high pressure which led to disappointment and frustration or like golfool said, golf is no more fun for you w/o his antics

| Thanks guys for all the sharing and suggestions. Wow! Guess like I am not the only one with such loss of golf mojo. Going through the replies and thinking thru some events in life, yea, it is definitely motivation and some spillover stress. Gonna take a break from range for a while and maybe just golf holiday style. And yes, maybe I need to golf with GF soon and also partner Eiji for a matchup with Wealthboys to motivate myself And yes, I am thinking of another activity to occupy my time; most likely picking up Korean language. | |

Don't wanna scare you but be careful with Kimchi girls
I dont wanna generalized but I had a few friends who had Kimchi GF and they were unpleasant experiences
You would be shocked.
Just be cautious
anyway, getting back your Golf Mojo ???? hhmmmmm......
only you can dissect that amigo.

| For those fairway balls that mysteriously disappear, I have a special "hole" in my right pants pocket for it.
Step 1: Stand at the spot where the ball SHOULD be Step 2: Look around to see what flight mates are doing Step 3: Put right hand into pocket. Keep eyes level, looking into the distance
*ploop*

*matter resolved*
Everything is bright and sunny again. What a great day to play golf. good game!

| Asahi,
AS summer is approaching, I bring you to this golf course about 1 hrs drive from HCMC. There, they have special arrangements with Korean golf schools that send their players and base them there for training. You dont have to play golf, just lim kopi also can...How???

| Asahi.. relak brudder.. you're taking golf too serious, never stop to enjoy the great outdoors and companionship that comes along with the game, and maybe putting extra unnecessary pressure on yourself. I too am in some kind of funk; I've not gone night range training for the last couple of weeks. After a while, the training sessions get a little stale.. so I'm taking some time off, maybe let the mojo/funk find me... hahhaaa | |

@grandmaster, maybe you are right. Kinda frustrated that I cannot put together all aspects of the Game together in 1 game. Be it chipping, driving or putting. So gonna go for holiday golf for next 2 mths. Psst, when can golf with you ah?
Hmmmm.....would night training help?

| And this once again opening myself up to flaming... This is not your job... Your salary is not going to get lower if your golf is not good... Your career is not in jepody... Of course you want to play better but input = output! If you do not practice 8-10 hours per Day as a Pro does you have absolutely no right to complain that your game is no good! If you do not "positive practice" you will not score well. Positive practice is more than going to the range 3 times a week hitting 200 balls all over the place... | |

| Yup. Spot on, mate! Agree with you on the positive practice part. Me also not a believer of just turning up at range, hit 200 balls 3 times a week. Like some bros here kindly pointed out, maybe I just need to chill out a little and take a break. Having said that, methinks even if I put in the kind of positive practice you mention and then I bump into those 3 scenarios I highlighted, I would still have lost it. hahahaha | |

| I just read a very insightful saying," losing teaches you humility."
We all go through periods where our game just seems so easy and scores are low. We win AOL the time and unconsciously, we get loud and forget our place. Low periods like this brings us back and make us realize that we should appreciate what we have achieved and the hard work we did to get to where we are today. It also teaches what comes around, goes around.

| I have been through three months of hell with my golf game. Shooting in high 90s and high 100s. Tee off ob. Iron shots shank or pull, chips topped or duff. Putts short or too strong.
Now I am peaking. Shooting low 80s and winning my bets. Then one fine day, with my confidence sky high, I played bad and lost big! there goes my 6 consecutive winning steak. How the hell can I shoot 99? ? ?
Then I saw this one liner.... Losing teaches us humility.
I realized that I became cocky and was close to be arrogant. I needed that loss as a wake up call to find my place.
I don't know whether I am making sense, but just wanted to share this with all.

Positive practice is more than going to the range 3 times a week hitting 200 balls all over the place... If you don't get flamed, it would be disappointing in a way. It only showed the post did not hit its intended mark. But with an opener like that, I expected something more. What you said instead, was quite logical and hard to argue with.
