Just on this, do you find Men's tennis boring to watch? In comparison to Women's, the most drama that you actually find is in the Serves. The women's fare better at least they gave more rallies and counters, which is much more interesting.

Nah, I prefer Men's tennis but it depends on who plays (actually, that applies to Women's tennis too).

It would have been more exciting if they could have lesser focus on serving the shots, there can be more returns. The swing speed and combination of modern tennis rackets have kinda make it rather hard for even tennis tour pros to intercept for returns.

Also, did you guys sense the irony of Wimbledon stadium!!! The sunny sky!!! ha ha ha.... the organisers must be praying hard,.... pls pls, make it rain today...

Just wondering, when some of teh ladies serve, they actuiaklly let out a long scream so that the serve will be powerful or scare the tennis ball to become more power, If we let out the same type of scream at every drive or shots, will it serve the same purpose ?? scratch

Shouting does help to make it easier to produce more force when hitting the ball regardless of tennis, volleyball or soccer etc..
For golf, most likely if you shout you can swing harder, but will lose control I guess. You can try shouting 'Fore!!' while hitting incase there is a mishit and the ball anyhow flies Razz

People shout in tennis to get their timing right. Its not actually shouting, but breathing in and out.

I prefer watching men's tennis. Women's tennis rely a lot on baseline rallies, which sometimes can get very boring.

Men's tennis used to comprise serve and volleys. That is very interesting to watch as it relies a lot on a good serve with reflex actions. Then came the era of Jim Courier and Agassi. Wa sianz.....all the baseline rallies, though I was a Agassi fan. Pete Sampras was one of the last few good Serve and volleyers for our generation. But, now with the emergence of Federer , people are now seeing a new brand of tennis. Wat they call an all-court game. Federer just have too many weapons in his arsenal. He can drop shot you, volley, play baseline game with you, hit beautiful passing shots while you are trying to volley him. His forehand is second to none. His serves though not fast in tour standards are deadly accurate. His opponents are always kept guessing what kind of serves he will execute (slice or kick, to the body or out wide), cos he is able to execute all these with the same ball toss position.

Right now, you see people like Djoko, Murray, even Nadal employing an all court game.

we are actually very lucky to see Federer and Tiger in our generation. They actually changed the face of their respective games

screaming and grunting are also psychological warfare...

moaning takes it to another level though.. especially when playing mix doubles... :p
