Stroke play or matchplay?

Which sort of betting is more suitable to help one to improve faster?

My thoughts:

If high hcpper, then stroke play

If low hcpper, then match play

For seasoned beginner, I think no diff. Choosing the right opponent is key

@ Bro SamT... IMHO, a high HCP should focus and try to be profficient in minimizing errors.....as such, playing strokeplay put a penalty which kinda forces he/she to not lose sight of these. Keep hoping for dream shot will not help in the long run

conversely ..a low hcp already know how to minimze damage ....and matchplay will conditiion him/her to try something out of his or her comfort zone , so as to help to move to next level
