| I am a PC holder started learning golf at Toa Payoh driving range about 9 months back. Beginners wanting to earn a handicap are invited to join in together for few rounds of golf to keep scorecards to qualify for handicap application. Weekends or weekday morning preferred interested please PM me.

| Hi Buzz and Socialgolfer, wanna catch a game this thurs together at MBGC at 10.28am? We should be able to finish the game before 3pm (the time it typically rain these days... my apologies to all teeing off during the afternoon for the jinx) Me lousygolfer so should be fun golfing together without stress. P.S. Edwin, you wrote "Beginners wanting to earn a handicap are invited to join in..."... I have handicap, can play or not??? My handicap is my inability to play good golf | |

| Argh Lousy Golfer..so sorry but missed your message. Would have enjoyed playing there. Yes, I should be happy when breaking 100 but frus lah. I went from 120, 110, then low 100s before entering the 90 zone. Then edging towards 80s before i sprained finger later and Ola to 100s again (should have clarified - bad scores recently thanks to finger). One day driver works. Next day putter works. Odd days, irons work. But never on the same bloody day!!!!
Played with a 6 handicapper 17 year old girl last week. Imagine, she kept telling me not to be nervous. She started at 9 so her advice had value for sure. Had a bet with a 14 handicapper colleague to beat him net by end of the year. I play off 21 (more like 36). This Wednesday he set game at Serapong. I think I pay him before we tee off first hole or pray to Saint Andrew's, the patron saint of new golfers for my playing partner to kena stomach ache.
Good luck to all fellow newbies. Here's to a new year of pars (not double), cheap but good balls (to replace lost expensive and good balls) and that one decent round which can carry us into 2013.

| Hi buzz... pity can't catch a game with you this time. Hope your finger heals quickly. I know how it feels playing with an injury (some marshals in Kranji would have remembered me golfing with a cast on my right hand back in '08...). You will get back your game soon so juz hang in there. Good luck on your game on Wed... 21 h'cap can beat 14 h'cap on level terms one. Difference not really that big... Hope to catch a game with you soon... play with me sure not nervous one cos no stress as I am a lousy golfer | |

| Update: I won!!!! Five pars but played badly on par 5 kena triple and quadruple...ended up playing 99 and beat him on three counts: buggy-buggy, stroke play and match play. Today I played at marina with old friend. I thought sure on form but sheesh, 102. So back to the drawing board. Golf....argh! | |

| Congrats on your victory!!!
You played Marina today... what time was your tee-off? I was there too joining a flight...who knows... it may be your flight (can buy toto already)
Perfect weather today...no sun, no rain. No worries on bad scores today as the tees are moved back... whites are actually blues and blues are blacks.

| No bloody wonder!!!! Par 4 like damn long. I was driver, hybrid on almost every par 4. Tee off at 9am. Weather was shiok. Light drizzle followed by cool breeze. Two ang mohs joined us. One 72 year olld who plays off a 14. They don't believe in double par. Five strokes from bunker. We were so paiseh cos flight behind keep catching up with us. | |

| Ola ola....I learnt that from watching Dora the Explorer. Thought I could pass myself off as Sergio Garcia. No luck. Play like Sergio Mendez. | |

| Need sagely advice: Graphite or steel? I have the MP 53 with NS pro950. 7 irons go about 135m. swing speed between 77 and 80mph I also have the Mizuno MX 300 irons with DG R 300 SL. & iron about 135m. Driver swing speed is about 90-95. PLay with Graffaloy Booyah in Stiff Now wondering if I should switch irons to graphite shaft. Questions: 1) Other than weight and distance, any other advamtage? Distance means little to me. I prefer accuracy which I lack 2) Price. Good but not too expensive. Such a thing exist? Just got brand new, untrimmed NS pro950 HT shafts fropm Japan from my friend. Before inserting, I thought I should consider graphite. Please advise. | |
