| I am sure many golfers here experienced wearing metal studs up to the year 1996. And if I remember correctly, it is no longer allowed in many courses both here and in Malaysia in 1996.
While metal studs are good for traction, the amount of damages it caused to the putting green is horrendous for the greenkeeper.
I particularly love hearing the sound the studs made when walking on cement surface, like we are in a march. Ha! Ha!

| Yup, I used to enjoy metal studs. I don't know if it's psychological but I felt that they gave me a better grip. That said, walking around the 19th hole was tricky... especially after the rain | |

because they don't come from the front of the club house to scratch the nice marble flooring at the country clubs or turn it into an ice skating ring. most tour players prefer the traction of the metal spikes on the course and there is very little movement unlike plastic ones. having said that, i think the players needs wellies this week at the Iskandar, i doubt the dffierent spikes would make much of a difference. Ya, boss... looking at some tweeter pics, macam a flooded course in Bangkok instead of Iskandar. Instead of using buggy, they better use sampan to get around haha
