winston, shoulders parallel to ground. I personally place ball closer to center/back of stance to ensure ball first contact.

My practice for uphill/dowhill lies.
Downhill, ball further back in stance than usual aim left as ball will have tendency to fade, Uphill ball further forward in stance than usual aim right as ball will have tendency to draw.

Thanks Mizzy & eiji...
Another question, Ball above / below feet you either hold further up or choke down on the grip, DO you do the same for Uphill/downhill lie??
Also for downhill lie, do you choke down on the club and hinge you wrist earlier so that you club doe not hit the ground on the backswing??

Ball below feet is the tougher of the two shots.
For ball below feet, aim left, I focus a lot on keeping my posture, staying down and through the shot. No choking down on those shots. Expect low trajectory.
Ball above feet, i choke down slightly, aim right, feel a more rounded swing around body. Severe cases expect ball to hook.
for you question on downhill lie, no i don't take my club back more steep, just maintain my usual swing but ensure that the setup is correct.
I am a high handicapper so may not be the best person to take advise from.

downhill lie, don't choke down. hinge wrist early may promote toppish shot. your goal is to hit a descending blow on the ball, and the downhill lie will make it harder to do so. so swing wide and smooth to get the club going down and hit the ball than top the ball. if you are touching the ground on the back swing, your shoulders may not be parallel with the ground. personally I place the ball closer to the back leg. i.e. the center of stance or slightly back of centre.
