PX Satin vs C Tapers Empty
PostSubject: PX Satin vs C Tapers   PX Satin vs C Tapers I_icon_minitimeTue Nov 01, 2011 12:55 pm

Just wondering if anyone out there has tried the PX Satins and how does it compare to the C Tapers?

I am using KBS now which helps my ball get in the air... But I feel that it has too much spin and causes my ball to balloon... Also feel my yardages bit off...

Any comments???
Thinking of changing back to the PX Satins or the C Tapers

Can't comment on the PX satins as i've never tried them, but what i can say is that the C-Tapers are very different from the KBS Tour shafts. The C-Tapers definitely have a lower, more penetrating ball flight which i guess is what you're looking for. KBS Tour and 90 ballooned madly for me and i lost distance as a result. I'm a naturally high launch, high spin player by the way.

Edit: Should also add that the C-Tapers play slightly stiffer to flex. If you normally use an S flex shaft, you might be better off with R+ or S soft-stepped in the C-Tapers. Generally speaking of course, ideal would be to let a good clubfitter make an assessment.

Miss Lee, the KBS to me is high but it goes long. The C-Taper is launching lower with lower spin, got problem stopping the ball on the green. But I do agree that it plays stiffer, so consider half or even a full flex softer than what you usually play.

PX satin... First I thought it would be comparable to the C-Taper, apparently it is not. A buddy of mine found that he cannot hit the C-Taper at all because he doesn't have a steep AoA, a.k.a. A sweeper. We found that you really need to compress the ball to play the C-Taper, while the PX satin is not so extreme. My Dad, who does not have a steep AoA still loves the PX.

On a side note, I am playing the True Temper Monaco lately with great result. Maybe it's time to hang around the den and ask the Master formsome advice. Wink
