| I noticed there are some golfers torturing themselves during weekend games when they even have a problem hitting a proper shot. Other golfers are kept waiting for them for almost every shot. I noticed when I was playing at The Legends some time last month and this golfer in the group of 4 was having problem hitting 120m with a driver. The other 3 tee off quite decent but no more than 200m and sprayed their shots in almost every other directions, much to our amusement at times.
I wonder why can't they just play White Tee and enjoy their game better.

| I wonder too ...
I know my own limitations, hence I prefer to play off the white tees.
However, golf is a social game, so if others prefer to play off blue or black, I will just go with the flow and hopefully not slow them down too much.

| after playing for awhile you'll understand golf is a game of EGO. when u see these ppls, u'll give up looking at their game. i just pray they'll let me thru for the next hole/tee but chances...nah...never....just one of those days u have to stick ur ball behind them all the time... | |

| From what i understand, it could also be culture. If i am not wrong, no one tees off the whites in Indonesia. Going to the blue is somewhat an SOP regardless if you are able to play or not. | |

| Frankly, it boils down to some courtesy (and this isn't strictly a white tee / blue tee issue). If you realize that you're having a shitty day and you're slowing your flight down (and the many other flights behind yours), don't be a freakin' pro. Pick up your ball and go. What annoys me are golfers who are slow and yet, still delay the game by hacking away in the rough, shoveling themselves out of the bunker and spending a long time reading the green... all for the 14th stroke in a par 3. I'd recommend picking up the ball, cursing and throwing the ball into the water (or jungle) When you're screwed, you're screwed. | |

| This happens a lot in Malaysia courses by the way because Singapore courses are quite strict in that only handicap 18 or below can play off blue tees.
I have seen a lot too whereby shots were sprayed all over and less than 200yds. Worst is to see golfers who need driver on par 3.

I wonder why can't they just play White Tee and enjoy their game better. Been there before. But whenever i start a game, i will relax and watch in amusement and recount the times I had when I actually pay money to do gardening for the golf courses. On Blue Tee, I think its peer pressure. am sure it is not his choice if the other 3 wants to attempt blue tee. If you feel that they are annoying you, just walk over and ask if you can go first. (This is EGO too, not asking) Usually MOST golfers are nice to let you go. Re: picking up the ball and go to avoid delay does not help in one's golf game. I usually will advise them to use iron 7 or iron 9. unless its his first game on green. Sometimes, it is just that practice is lacking. I am sure that the one that plays badly does not feel good either. When this happens, I will walk over gently, tap his shoulders and offer him a beer, had a laugh and make a friend. If he turns around and bark, I will take back my beer, call Marshall if he plays dangerously over the next few holes/delays etc. and then laugh.

I have seen a lot too whereby shots were sprayed all over and less than 200yds. Worst is to see golfers who need driver on par 3. Bro, in Starhill CC - Bintan course, there is a Par 3 hole (Blue Tee Box) measuring 230 yards (uphill), my flight mate used a driver and he got it on in one!

| Bro Turbo, "Complain to the Marshall to check their handicaps. Only HCP 18 or below can tee off at blue on weekend. Not sure if it applies to JB CC. " Certain courses in JB, the marshal will turn a blind eye if you are willing to "help" him back.... In SGP, does complaining to the Marshall really help? I ever made a complaint in one of the local clubs. All the marshall do is go to that flight and ask them whether they agree to let us pass through. The flight made noises (believe they are all members) and the Marshall just follow them a few holes and then disappear!! | |
