There are some youtube videos of Stan Utley. His stuff is very very good.
This is a great one on putting and how I also believe the putting stroke should work

These drills are a great way to feel the putter and arms moving as opposed to the shoulders

Spot on there Stan. I had Rogy doing these drills last week. Get the putter to move with as little body movement as possible. I also like the shaft leaning forward or as he refers to the forward press

hi Paul,
If you do a forward lean, wouldn't that "de-loft" the putter? also will it cause the ball the jump upon impact?

Good point. If you read my earlier post however, I mention that we flatten the lie angle and add some loft to the putter to accomodate this Cheers Paul

Hi all,
Just a question, how long is your putter and how tall are you?
I am 180 and am using a 34" putter. But i feel it is too long as i bend quite low to achieve eye over ball. When i used my coach's 32" putter, it felt alot better.
My friends have commented that i look quite odd in that stance, and the uncle whom i asked to cut my putter for me REFUSED! saying that i should adjust my stance and the way i put.
am i really that weird? Care to share how tall you are and how long your putter is?

I was using 34 all the while until i met a friend who is 1.8 in height using 32. I then bring my spare putter(experiment) to the clubfitter and have it choke down to 32.5inch. When using it, the feel is much better. End of day, its all about personal preference.

Yup. what i am worried about is that i may not find wad is the most suitable for me. Including finding the most suitable putter and the best putter length. Most of the time we find something we think is not too bad, but there's probably more suitable ones for us out there but we may never find out.

Hmm... this sets me thinking.
I also wonders whether one should choose between putter that has an offset, or not ? How do you choose it ?
It's just so confusing now. I used to think that putter is just grab what you like and use it. But seems now there's much more to it. Length selection is critical, blade/mallet, offset/non offset, weight, heel/toe issue, type (belly or normal)...

No wonder I kept thinking that my putter is too short... cos I'm putting RSS way and using 34"... Maybe should lengthen it...
