Titleist 910 D3 with no serial number

Hi,

I have purchased a titleist driver from authorized dealer stated in titleist.com.sg.

The driver head does not have a serial number on it. Can i verify whether the driver is legimate?

Yes... I think you should try contact Titleist

U can register your product if you have the number. If no number how to register, so just prompt this question to Titleist and please highlight which retailer sell this to you in the event its not from Titleist.

Just checked mine and Yes series nos is there ....

You can check with Titleist Club Concierge at the link below. I'm think your Titleist cluib was made in Xiamen :

There is a local titleist website. its better to check from them as the club is bought from a local retailer here.

Usually the serial number is controlled by a central database managed by corporate HQ to prevent counterfeits. Local Titleist offices should have access to that database. But I would go direct to the central database in case local branch has local snakes inside. You never know.

When you establish that it's not an original, you can take legal actions against the shop or authorised dealer.

FYI, I was involved with brand protection business in my previous job, so I know how this is controlled.

What if the item is from Xiamen and they copied the serial no of the item sold in titleist china. It will still be a legimate number unless it's being sold and registered.

Thanks for bringing this up. I believe you have been in contact today with a Titleist Representative and we are looking into this for you.

For the benefit of everyone else, although a serial number is a great way of checking the legitimacy of a golf club, unfortunately these days it is not 100% the case that if a serial number appears on our database, the club is real. This is because, as correctly pointed out by ChrisD, some counterfeiters put legitimate Serial Numbers on their products which they copy from existing Titleist products.

The best thing to do is to have someone from Titleist inspect the product for you. Another thing to do is compare it to the real thing and look for any differences. Often weight is a good indicator.

Here are just some info that i gatherered of the head before sending in...

Total head weight 197g
Weight of screw 6g instead of 7g

After searching online some said that it could be from the tour van or even they are actually demo clubs. Lots of argument.

For me, i just take it as QC failed.

If I am not wrong even tour issued or demo item are serialized.
Check with titleist if unsure.

You're right that serial numbers can be copied too. But linked with shipment data, a serial number can be tracked to authorised dealers.

Still, serial numbers stamped on the hosel is not the best solution. There are better method which combines a 2-dimensional barcode with advanced printing technology, and a central database. This is used in expensive consumer products.

Have you let anyone changed your club's shaft? I believe the w Original Shaft have a match serial bar code with the Driver's head. Have you brought your orginal shaft to anyone to do a fitting? I guess we all believe there are alot of imported stuff. Don't we?

He would have brought it back to the authorized dealer to tell them to deal with Titleist for sure. Thats why he gets a replacement.

So who is this authorised dealer? This is what I am really interested in.
