how about an official Starry Starry Nite at Punggol for GR members in the north?
Many times we hear people saying MBGC is too far.
Maybe the dynamic duo of Snowy & Golfjoy can take the lead. I'm sure Blee will join once in a while kekeke u must be kiddin' the last time I tried to arrange, bo lang respond leh.... and horrr... the 3 of us live in very different area, different constituencies | |

| Sorry guys, I just need a place to rant... My friend and I went to Punggol range on 12th Nov, we started playing at around 10.15pm after doing some stretching. We started late that day as my friend only knocked off at 9.30pm+ that day. Both of us shared one basket (though we bought 2 tokens) due to the late timing. We are definitely not very good at it as we seldom got the time to practise. For myself, if time permits, I only get to practise once a week as I'm a full time homemaker taking care of my daughter. And due to my friend's busy work schedule, she too only gets to practise whenever she is free. On that day, the balls we hit mostly were heading towards 2pm direction (not anything more than that) mainly because we kept looking up when we swing down (yes, our bad habit but we are trying our best to really focus on the golf ball). Just then, this nice gentleman who was just next to our bay came over to gave us some advice after seeing how we hit which we really appreciate as we are open to comments be it good or bad. As there were 2 of us, he spent some time with each of us telling us what are our mistakes and how we can improve on it. Usually, most golf range will start to switch off the lights section by section when it is near closing time. The 3 of us (including the gentleman) went back to our own bays so that we can finish the remaining balls. 5 minutes to 11pm, the security guard asked his workers (maybe around 5 of them) to start going out to the field to start collecting the golf balls by using this "T-shaped" thing like a wiper to push all the balls to one side. By then, I was telling my friend to stop hitting as there were people out there (they started at the very right most corner of the field) even though our balls will not be able to hit them at their direction. The 3 of us decides to pause and we started looking at the security guard to see if we could get his attention. One of the Poh Bros. Management's boss was there and he was talking to the security guard. We were the only remaining ones on the ground level (not sure are there any people on the 2nd level) when I looked around. So now instead of facing our right, I told my friend we should turn and hit to the other side (left side of the range) as we really do want to finish fast and leave as we do not see the workers' intention to stop for us. Realising we started playing again, the security guard was telling the Boss loudly in hokkien "this 2 (me & my friend) hit the balls ah all go sideways one ley, later kanna them how". He not only said it once, but kept repeating the same sentence TWICE, we heard everything loud and clear but we chose to ignore him. We admit the balls we hit was not going straight most of the time, but definitely not that horrible that our balls will fly towards the workers' direction and hit them. Moreover we were now hitting to the other side of the range. Sensing that we started, the boss then told the security guard to ask the workers to come back and continue later. My friend & I by now just doubled our speed in order to finish fast and ciao. As my friend just finished her last ball, the gentleman and I still left with 10 balls. They decided to give us a surprise! They switched off ALL the lights, yes including the bay area! So romantic ah, first time playing in TOTAL DARKNESS. Indeed, I was very upset and angry with the security guard and the boss. I was telling my friend what a good method to "send" us out. In fact, I nearly lost my cool and wanted to throw my club onto the mat and walk out, how to continue when I could not even see the ball on the mat clearly? I could only use my club to "feel", yeah like a blind who uses a walking stick. In the end, I could only blame myself for playing so slow and have to play in the darkness. When I was struggling to finish, the boss just walked past us looking at me. Why I did not throw my club and walk away? How could I do that if that nice gentleman did not even say anything about it? He just told me "Don't worry, just continue to hit and finish". I was glad I retained my composure and did not flare up scolding the management like a crazy woman. I usually go to OCC or MBGC to practise and most of the time they DO NOT switched off all the lights even if you stay or could not finish the balls past their closing time. Do not be mistaken that I'm always the last to leave the range everytime To end it off, I don't think I will be visiting Punggol range anytime soon even though I'm just staying opposite and still have one pathetic token with me. I rather waste the $6 than to go and 受气 again. And thanks to this incident so that I know this is the way they treat customers (I know $6.00 is nothing) and managing their business. On a happier note, I got to know a new friend cum golfer! P.S: Sorry for the longwinded post! | |

| Oh! Last sat? I was there too till the lights out! But I thought I heard the boss scolding the guard to get the workers back as there was still people playing... Me and my friend were on the left side of the range when the lights went out. I was outside smoking when I saw 2 ladies and a guy walking out, you must be one of them? Well anyways, I got this many times at OCC too, so I thought it was quite normal... Chill chill~ | |

| I am beginning to luv the range but really sad to hear of such incident.. they shud at least inform the golfers and also see how many more balls. if little, no harm letting the golfers clear the balls as long dun go buy new balls. They shud close the machine at 10pm like in Sembawang and i hit teh ball there til a little past 11 even though only myself there..Think a little things like that really does wonder... | |

| hide: Yeah I was on of them. Oh, I did not see anybody on the left side, maybe one of the pillars was blocking. The boss merely just told the guard to get the workers to come back in a loud tone, maybe to get our attention as well? Hahahaha!
I understand that all range lights will be off at their closing hour, even at OCC. But I did not come across where they switched off the lights even at the Bay area too. So I'm not sure whether are you referring to the former or latter I'm talking about.
Usually the security guard at OCC will walk around on the lower and upper deck checking are there anymore people, they will still leave the lights on for both levels even when nobody is there. I saw this numerous time as my friend & I will be taking a break at the carpark and thinking where to go for supper (we can take a long time to decide where to go =x) Sometimes, we are so engrossed checking our iPhones for supper places that we did not realise it's already 11.30pm, so the guard will come and inform us they will be closing the range and its carpark.
Don't worry, I'm not angry about it anymore. In fact, I even went prawning after that with my friend =)
Cheers!
4dtoto: I totally agree with you. If they really want to switch off the Bay area lights, they could come and inform us and I will be cool with that as I'm only left with 10 balls.
