Impact sound

Recently I'm helping a friend who is starting to play the game with my old iron (cgb max R7).
I'm trying to confirm if other has the same similar experience. But even on good impact the sound of the CGB max R7 is just not really appealing anymore compared to the blade MP 68 on the same good impact. It sounds so hollow compared to the blade and it's just not pleasant at all. I used to be not so bothered by it, but now it's different.

The other thing that I've notice is on off contact the sound made by a blade feels like an annoying speed limiter that just annoys you to death since you can't fool your self or feeling good with the result of the shot. The impact sounds just tells you that you'e just screwed your shot (duff, top, etc).

Or maybe it's just me and my hearing ?
