| Recently I bought an i15 irons set.... but unfortunately it makes my games worse. Any pro could advise whether is the set does not suit beginner??
I used to play at about 95 to 100 (with srixon 403).. now become 105 to 115....

| i15 is player iron from Ping ? I don't think there is anything wrong with the club, but as always player iron is not very forgiving on non perfect shot, so that might be your problem or maybe the club is not suitable for your swing.

| Just curious, what happen when you use i15 set as compare to the Srixon 403 ? Also i15 shud be a Game Improvement set. | |

| I think the weight distribution for the whole club is quite different. I chose to change to Ping i15 because i believe is has less offset... before the change i noticed that i am getting a bit of hook when i swing faster using Srixon403.

| how about i15? straighter? Also the shaft play a part in the overall weight.

| bro, you need to be more precise...
worse means what? - you slice or hook more with i15 - thin/top/duff more - have worse distance control (too long or too short)
a score is result of so many factors during round, not just the iron play.
e.g. how many no. of putts then vs now? how many times did you get into trouble (hazard/ob) now vs then? do you loose more balls now? do you catch the bunkers more often and, if so are you able to get out of bunkers in one try?
could be confidence issue as well. E.g. I have a bridgestone iron set. It performs nice on the range but I played one bad round with it and now I scare to play it again when there are stakes.
i use i15 and I've played good and bad rounds with it. I love the feel, easy to hit but still have "players" mid size

| Thanks Pushslice. My issue is with the accuracy and distance lost.
With i15 if i want to keep accuracy i need to slow down the swing a little bit and this will cause distance lost of about 10m on every iron. So now my iron 6 distance about 135m only (used to be 145m with srixon 403)
If i maintain my old swing speed then i will slice the ball a little. So, what I need to adjust in order to have proper swing with less offset irons like i15.

| Seems that you are having either a swing path issue or the equipment's lie angle is a bit not right. Did you get fitted before getting the i15 ? what is your height ? and colour code of teh i15 irons? | |

| My height is 165cm and the colour code was fitted as Orange. It is correct. | |

| i dont know about srixon 403 but the offset in i15's 6 iron is still noticeable. Compared to other's players irons like Cobra pro combo or AP2 or MP58, i15 still has more offset if you slice now (ball straight then banana right) then it's prolly bcoz of your outside in swing path If the 403 had more offset, and given the same swing path, your ball with 403 would have been a fade (ball go left then banana right) and ends up in the middle. if you push slice now (ball go right and banana right) it means your club face is open and swing outside in. An offset club may help you square the face more. G15 would be better probably. with a less offset club, we must learn how to square the clubface on impact with less help. I dont know how weak or strong your grip is. One universal tip from the pros is to try keeping straight left wrist at the top and on impact. Dont cup the left wrist going back and thru, that will open the clubface. Sometimes I wear a rubber band on left wrist and put a pencil under it to remind myself. Another drill I find useful is to place two balls next to each other, and you hit the back ball with a 3/4 swing. If you hit on the downswing with square face, you will be able to launch both balls nicely (courtesy of michael breed/golf fix). hope you dont give up on the i15. Bcoz bro 4dtoto is leaving me | |

| Thanks a lot Pushslice. I am working very hard on this i15 now. I almost practice it everyday at range. I will try it out based on your advice and update you if successful before giving up.... cheers. | |

| Blee dun like pro trajectory lah. Make him look too buaya. He also prefer his ball drop and back spin. Draw and the ball only drop and hop for him. | |

| defintely the i15 are for 15 to single handicappers. you are probably better off the G series with bigger club head and more offset | |
