Its absolutely $hit by the way. Its just thick enuff to stuff it under one of my tables so that it doesn't rock.

Look at Fluff. After he got too famous for himself and he tried to cash in on it, TW also let him go. Instead of hee-ing and haw-ing about it, he now has a decent boss in the likes of Jim Furyk (not this year though and god almighty has gone with the Broomstick too).

There will always be many opinions to go on about it. Let's just put it as agree to disagree. I personally was pretty impartial to him even after all the camera throwing and fan abusing the last time but this week made me just turn away in disgust.

And FYI, I watched his interview then I saw Adam's one. Whichever way 1st, he is probably the only caddy I know that has ever held a press conference.

And Shaggy, we dun appreciate ppl polluting the forum with 1 or 2 sentence postings just to clock 20 and post in the marketplace. I also think I wun be interested in any of your items.

Yup, I am not condoning his actions, just offering another view...

The diffence between Fluff and Steve was Earl!. The same as Michelle Wie, the early part of Tigers career Dad made all the decsions. I met them at Presidents cup in Melbourne and Tiger could hit the ball, but Earl said in what direction. He would have been the catalyst for that break up.

For all intensive purposes the caddy is like a Jockey, The Horse runs the race, but who interviews the Horse... the caddy is an intergral part of the game.

I believe Steve only hung around with Adam to rub Tigers nose in it, pure and simple, he was s**t on so he is going to get his own back.. That also is human nature and I can relate...

BTW I also have that same book and you are right it is C**P!

S70b....Dude.....Not everyone who post here need to do so with long postings. Don't hang here often, but when I do, will post every now and then. You don't seem to take kindly to people who do nor welcome them.

Its interesting to see how within half an hour, the majority of the list of latest topics seem to suddenly be perpetuated with 1 or 2 liners from you.

Been a member since last year and suddenly felt a need to post in 9 or 10 random threads from 4.28 to 5.03pm? Even our post-leader will find it hard to catch up.

A day later, the caddie had had time to reflect on a media performance calculated to embarrass his ex-boss, Tiger Woods, and that was criticized by many who felt Williams overshadowed Scott’s achievement.

“Looking back on it, I was a bit over the top,” he told FOXSports.com from Atlanta, where he and Scott were preparing for this week’s PGA Championship.

“I had a lot of anger in me about what happened (with Woods) and it all came out.”

After Scott won, Williams called it “the most satisfying win of my career,” which includes 13 major championships among 72 victories worldwide with Woods during their 12 years together.

He also disputed Woods’ version of how he was fired. Woods said he’d done in face-to-face while Williams said it was done callously over the phone.

But on Monday the New Zealander put an end to the public spat.

“I said what I said but I’m not going to say any more about Tiger,” he said.

At Firestone, the Tiger Woods-Steve Williams breakup took a turn into acrimony. With 13 major championships among their 73 victories in 12 seasons, the pairing was one of the most successful in golf. But the relationship ended amid finger-pointing and escalating tensions of who said what and when.

The backstory: Williams flew from New Zealand to the U.S. planning to caddie for Woods at the U.S. Open at Congressional. Shortly after he landed in Los Angeles on June 8, Williams learned that Woods, recuperating from an injured left leg, already had withdrawn. So friend Adam Scott dialed up Williams, asking whether he’d work the U.S. Open. Williams says he initially asked for, and received, permission from Woods. The Woods camp reconsidered a couple of days later; Williams chose to keep his commitment to Scott. Scott missed the cut.

By the AT&T National in late June, Woods, according to Williams, phoned Williams and told him it was “time for a change.”

Said Williams, “In caddie lingo, that means you’re fired. Simple as that.”

But Woods, 35, said he fired Williams, 47, during a private meeting July 3, at the final round of the AT&T.

“It was a tough conversation,” Woods told reporters Aug. 2, “but we said what we needed to say to each other face to face and man to man.”

Williams said he’d already been fired via phone; he said the July 3 face-to-face meeting at Aronimink was to discuss reasons for the firing, chief among them that Woods thought Williams was being disloyal.

The “he said/he said” situation boiled over in the aftermath of Scott’s victory Sunday at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, which Williams termed “the most satisfying win” of his 33-year career. “It’s the greatest week of my life,” he said.

Bigger than those 13 major titles that he and Woods piled up during one of golf’s most dominant runs, apparently.

The following morning, Woods’ longtime agent, Mark Steinberg, fired back: “I’m stunned I’ve had to talk about this situation last night and today after Adam Scott’s good win,” he told Golfweek. “I feel sorry for Adam. But I’m tired of (Woods) taking shots for two years. When someone says something patently false, I feel the need to speak up. To say he (Williams) didn’t get fired face-to-face is ludicrous and tiring.”

Steinberg said Woods was at the AT&T National on Tuesday-Wednesday (June 27-28), flew home to Florida, and then returned to Philadelphia just so he could talk with Williams in person.

“Had he not gone to talk with Steve,” said Steinberg, “there would have been no reason for him to be there Sunday.”

I still think that Golf is an individual sport....and should remain that way....exclude the team tourneys of coz....

Thongchai's old caddie once told me...

when your player is doing well...the golf bag is very light.

when your player is not doing well...the golf bag is damn heavy.

for the record, they parted ways at the end of last year. he was instrumental in helping TJ do well cos he is the only one who can help TJ relax and focus on his game. looking at TJ's performance this year, maybe TJ's wife and manager should have stuck to the agreed % of winning. moral of story - player and caddie are a team, both parties should understand and appreciate that.

Did you guys notice Tiger does not use the Kiwi headcover for his FW #3 anymore? This is due to the obvious ... SW! You can try to obsserve it again during the PGA Championship come tomorrow where he will be teeing off with Davis Love and Paddy at about 8.30AM (US time).

Player/Caddy is no different from any other employer/employee relationship, when making good profit and in good term, both act like good buddy and will die for each other. But once biz & profit is down and out, both will start to point finger at each other. That's the reality of life...

I disagree. I don't think that it's employer/employee. I think it's more a partnership with the golfer carrying lion share. I don't think a professional golfer would really blame his caddy if things go wrong.

Both golfer and caddy go into the game together, but really it's the golfer who makes it or breaks it. I don't think I would say that the employer (as in your analogy) makes it or breaks it... in reality, it's often the other way around.

On a separate issue, I remember when Steve dropped Tiger's 9i into the pond... I don't think Tiger went ballistic (in public) but that sort of carelessness warrants termination in an employment scenario
