| "I had more speed, hit it more solid, more compression on the ball, so I was hitting it to numbers that I hadn't hit in a long time," said Woods, who reported no pain in his knee or Achilles. " I haven't hit it this flush in a long time." "I was hitting proper shots out there, and the distances I was hitting the golf ball. I hadn't hit the ball like this. This was fun, to be able to hit the ball with that much flush feeling through the golf ball and speed I had. It was pretty nice." " I got my power back," Woods said, beaming. A Tiger that: 1. got his power back 2. was puring shots all day 3. had no pain in his knee or Achilles 4. can sink 30+ ft putts Evil Tiger is scary Tiger, for his fellow competitors, esp if he keeps this up. For the rest of us, it's just so much fun to watch. | |

| Driving Distance 315.5 Driving Accuracy 35.71% GIR 66.67% Putts Per GIR 1.750 Average Distance to Pin 33' 10" Sand Save Percentage 50.00%
Driving accuracy was only 35.71%, but he was by no means wild off the tee. The misses were not by much, and certainly very playable, hence, hitting green 66.67%.
The rest of the stats show how well he was scrambling to save par, and how well he was putting.
When he missed the fairway, often it was because the driver was more purely hit and carried further than he expected.
So I look forward to Day 2, expecting him to calibrate the distances better, and amping up the accuracy another notch. | |
