| I play at Nam Heng about once or twice a year courtesy of its president's invitation to their annual charity and president's cups.
It's the most rustic golf course you can find in Johor, probably even the whole of Malaysia. Cow grass, postage greens, par 3 crown green, fairways doubled up as air strip.....it's a fun place.
To get there, easiest is to use your GPS. Nam Heng is listed in your map. If you have no GPS, drive all the way to Ulu Tiram Town. At town centre, take right turn (fliter left and turn right, going below the new flyover at town centre), drive 8km, look or sign after a school (SMK Sungei Tiram?) on left side, the signs say Ladang Basir Ismail. Turn left into the kampong road, and drive straight, follow the signs of Nam Heng Golf. If lost, stop and ask anyone working there.
Don't drive your BMW, take a 4WD if you have one, especially if you go on wet days. Part of the road is not metallised so you may get caught in muddy holes.

| Talk about wild boar, I saw one just 3 weeks ago at Warren hole #13 running across the fairway, jumped into the stream and swam across to the other side. Can't beleive it!
If you want another quiet and easiy course to play whole day, try Kukup. For RM60 you can play unlimited golf whole day, buggy included. On weekdays you may be the only flight to the whole 18 holes.

| Distance is an issue for Kukup. Otherwise it's the cheapest course with least congestion on fairways, and an easy course. | |

| Not a bit like Tanglin, it's real rural , but it's fun and good experience. If you go on dry days like these few days, you can take your sedan. Last time I went, late last year, most of the road has been metallised so it should not been an issue.
But you need to try their par 3 90m crown green. It looks like a Chinese grave. I encourage you to play there at least once.

| Ok, the final week before the "big" week. My nephew is now playing hcp 12.1, I am at hcp 20.4.
It's raining a lot in Singapore the last few days (well at least in the west at my office), so I want to try to play MBGC as early as possible in the week. Probably Monday or Tuesday afternoon depending on the weather.
Schedule is now: Monday: MBGC Tuesday: Johor GCC Wednesday: R&R (rest and range) or maybe a course in JB Thursday: Horizon Hills Friday: Palm Villa
Very excited about the week to come! Thursday and Saturday last days on the range in order to prepare. Let's hope I have some good results next week.
I will keep everybody posted if there is something exciting to report.
