anyone played there before? Miramar is one of the better courses in Taipei. I have stayed and played there few times, packaged deal on weekdays is about NT$5k++, you get breakfast, room and 18 holes. You can ask them to invoice as room and meals only so if you are on expense account, company pays. Other good courses are Sunrise, Tashee. Together with Miramar, I would say they are the top three in Taipei.

| I'm prejudiced. I never like Taiwanese caddies. Typically they are middle aged women who are more concerned with managing and keeping count of your clubs than offerring you help in course managements. I get this feeling that they don't want to be blamed if your club is missing...kiasu mentality. They are trained to be polite, and they behave mechanically before and after the games, bowing to you etc. But you can tell it's not from the bottom of their hearts, just doing it because they are told to be polite. I've play many courses in Taiwan, both Taipei and the southern parts (Tainan and Kaohsiung), easily more than half of all courses in Taiwan, and these are my general observations. They usually speak Hokkien so it should not be a problem communicating with them.
Generally, they are less dedicated vs Korean and Japanese, and even Chinese caddies. Some of them can even be sarcastic if you are not playing well.

| I too have had numerous games in Taiwan and had the fortune to meet and experience quite a spectrum of caddies. It helps to understand chinese otherwise you will have difficulty knowing what to expect. I suggest you at least understand terms such as "sha kheng" as bunkers, "ni feng" as in head wind, and "shun feng" as tail wind etc before you get on a golf course, since many courses are on mountainous regions. Fog, strong winds are all quite common especially during the colder months. Man, writing all these makes me miss my days of going to Taiwan on a monthly basis....and the best part of the golfing is all the trips out to the golf courses seem to be on the way to see the betel nuts ladies | |

| Try North Bay Golf Course. I find it nice and very scenic. About 50mins to 1 hour out of Taipei | |
