Need help and advise on shaft vibration Empty
PostSubject: Need help and advise on shaft vibration   Need help and advise on shaft vibration I_icon_minitimeWed Jul 20, 2011 10:32 pm

Hi all

i need your advise about shaft vibration

Currently I am using NSPRO 950GH, been using these shafts for almost 3 years.

The irons i use more often are #7 to P, i hardly use #6 and #5.
Recently, I start to practise on my #6 and I have this problem.

On my #6 iron, regardless I hit a bad shot or good shot, I always felt the vibration after impact on the shaft, and it feels like the vibration are from the lower portion (closer to the club head) of the shaft.

However, i don't feel that vibration from #7 to P.

I have tried #6 iron from a friend of mine, using KBS Tour 90, and i don't feel the vibration at all.

Please tell me, what goes wrong ? me now very puzzle.....scratch scratch

my current set is not a blade lah....anyway, back to the topic...haha !!!

i'm just trying to understand what I have felt, is that consider normal for #6 and longer iron ? u know the vibration on the steel shaft ?

i mean, i dun feel it on #7 to P iron, and there are all having the same shaft....

A quick way to narrow it down is to check, does it happen to #5 as well? How about #4 if you have one?

If it's just #6, that would seem to suggest something specific to that particular shaft/club, like perhaps the glue at the hosel.

I once had a driver that rattled, turned out it was a piece of glue that worked loose.

The rattling sound referred to by Lee refers to driver only as it is hollow on the inside. Iron is solid built. Why not take it down to Eric and let him have a look at it? Garanteed problem solved...

Then it would seem to suggest it's shaft-related, assuming you are hitting them both in the sweet spot, which I'm sure you are.

No, no, I meant that as an example of how something could simply be related to the way the club was built, and could be easily solved.

I agree, send it to a clubfitter and the problem should be quite easy to pinpoint.

In my driver's case, the glue as moving about in the shaft.

This happened to me before. Instead of the long irons, it was my 6 and 9 iron. I checked everything from length, SW, lie angle and even checked impact using impact tape. But the vibration was still there at every shot.

I pulled the shaft and checked the spine-alignment. True enough, it was a poorly done spine-alignment. (I got a clubmaker to spine-align it last time). The vibrations disappeared for both irons after the shaft was re-installed correctly. Accuracy improved as well.
