| I want to say a big thank you to Capt for organizing today's wonderful game at Bukit SICC.
and68low S70B
Vs
Shorthitter DRG72
We were schooled. My rust and capt's fatigue from playing 6 rounds in the last week did not help much and we lost our team game.
Individual side wise,
DRG72 vs S70B
DRG72 1up.
We both slagged it ard the course. The heat today was something all of us were struggling with. Dan just made more clutch putts as I was carelessly throwing shots away without thinking.
Overall, excellent game and company. I guess Dan is now more wary of the kind of weather us Singaporean golfers have to deal with over 18 holes and it's a real workout to walk the 18 in this heat.
There will be a return match 2 weeks from now. Need to work on my game if time permits.

There will be a return match 2 weeks from now. Need to work on my game if time permits. I want to second the thanks to capt. for setting up the game. It was a blast and I feel really lucky to have made my way over here and met such a great group of people. It was great to finally meet up with S7OB as we had been exchanging emails for a few months now and were able to finally get out there and have a go. It was a great match and Rex is a very solid golfer who hits it quite far. I have to say that I was impressed with his game and like my match with Capt. it came down to me getting it up and down on 18 to secure the victory. I am looking forward to the rematch for sure. The heat and humidity were a challenge for me today. It is a different type of golf, especially when you are walking. Going to take some time to get used to and allow my blood to thin out a little. But all in all a great day on a great golf course. Shorthitter and I did a great job of carrying each other when one was out of the hole. That is the only reason that we won the match against Capt and Rex. They were tough as usual, we just happened to have a little good fortune of playing holes well when the other was not doing so well. Looking forward to getting out there again...problem for me is I need some work on my swing...had another few close calls and one hosel rocket. It appears some video and range time are in order.

1. The league will be played over 6 months, kicking off on DDMMYYYY and ending in our year-end charity game.
2. Golfers would be categorized into 3 divisions; Premier, Div 1 and Div 2, depending on their handicap and the handicap assessment/scrutiny by the committee. Once we have all the golfers, the committee will give a initial ranking based on the handicap. Thereafter the challenge begins.
3. Any golfer can only challenge a golfer who is within 5 places above him and not more or less and strokes given will be in accordance to the division the golfers belong to. e.g. if golfer A challenges golfer B and both are in same division, play level. If golfer A challenges golfer B who is 1 division above, then 2-2 stroking will be given to golfer A. For the last 5 placing golfers in Division 2 only, a special stroking handicap will be given (definitely more than 2-2) after the first 8 weeks.
4. A player can only challenge players no more than 5 placings above him. If he beats him, he takes over his spot while the loser drops to the challenger spot. If the challenger loses, his opponent remains while the challenger drops 2 places.
5. No restriction on courses, be it overseas or local. Up to the two golfers to plan and arrange.
6. In order to discourage inactive members, they should suffer some form of penalty... i.e. say 2 levels drop for every inactive 4 weeks. And if consecutively inactive for 12 weeks, his/ her slot will be forfeited and a new member introduced. So we should also be maintaining a waiting list to standby keen GRians join the league
7. For those unable to challenge 5 placing above, can PM the committee to request for other challenges. i.e next 2 placings above
8. For Premier Division golfers, please inform slinger of the challenges and update him on the results. For Division 1, yours truly and for Division 2, wilkang.
9. Tables for all 3 divisions will be updated in respective divisions' threads while a consolidated one of all 3 will be posted up here.
10. Golfers are advised to refrain from arranging a 2nd challenge match before the 1st match is concluded. This is because the placings may change after the 1st match and the challenger may not be able to challenge the golfer he originally wanted.
11. Golfers who have just faced off will not be allowed to challenge each other again for the subsequent two weeks after their game.

Challenge accepted. We will need to sort out a time to play and maybe we can get a couple of other people to play as well. Next week is no good as I have class on Monday and Tuesday all day. So possibly later in the week or the following one. Plus I need to get to the range and sort out what is going on with my swing...you might have challenged me at a very opportune time. Dan

| Coastguy is a consecutive two-time OCBC Golf Series champion, taking longest drive also along with his second win. No matter how you sling here, sling there, hard to out play him la... unless you sling one between his eyes. | |
