We welcome all suggestions on the format and wager (so long as it's not back scrubbing/special in storeroom).
So far, S70B's take on points for hitting fairways one seems sound. Will TIC that. My suggestion.....point based. Bogey = -1 Double = -2 Worse than above = -3 PAr = +1 Birdie = +3 team with best score (ie positive hor)....WIN in this way, all team members need to play abit carefully or aggessively But I will still like a 'showdown' with my hood-brudder....

| Guys, for those with Kajiki shafts, please indicate so. Need to get a sense of the number of holders with the shaft for some consideration.
It may or may not end up as a team versus game format. Could be just a social game with some twists and fun (bets included). But the end purpose will be to contribute to the Japan Quake cause.
Will update more when back from HCM.
In the meantime, keep the sign ups coming.

| Or we can play stableford points. At the end count the points, the person who got the most point wins.
bogey - 1 point par = 2 points birdie = 3 points eagle = 4 points albatross = 5 points

bogey - 1 point par = 2 points birdie = 3 points eagle = 4 points albatross = 5 points you mean the TEAM who got the most points? If it's the person, then it's going to be you lah. 4 Times Stableford Champ Can add S70B's points formula here too.

| Been so busy till I have lost track of the forum a bit.
Anyway here is a 'raw' proposal too.
14 fairways. Every hole to use driver.
If you get the longest drive of the group (must hit fairway too): 2 points
Hit fairway: 1 point
That way your 'flight team' can score a max of 3 points per hole.
Best Ball scoring like lo hei game.
Tabulate the 'points' wrt the drives then subtract from the best ball score to give a nett score.
Lower score after 18 holes wins the match of that particular flight.
So now, the pairing, scoring and driving skills all come into play.
Eg, Captains can pair a long driver who dun play well with a short steady player to optimise their scores.
Or he can play safe and opt for 2 shorter drivers and hope the opponents dun find a fairway and play bad.
This is just throwing something out there for a fun event. You guys can fine tune it to simplify the scoring count.
I also suggest a decent dinner so that we can all bond at the end of the round.

ZX (can I partner wilkang please? I miss him ...) 13. TFP (???) Hmm....really like S70B's idea on incorporating f/w hits to the final tabulation of scores to determine the winning team. As for the donation to the 'Japan Quake' cause, was thinking of using mloy's suggested scoring to determine the donations to be made. Here's an illustration. Using mloy's scoring Team A players score 32 and 34 pts respectvely (Best score is thus 34 pts) Team B players score 36 and 42 pts respectively (Best score is thus 42 pts) Rounding off to the nearest ten, Team A is on 30 while Team B is on 40. So for the donation, team A players each contribute $40 while Team B players contribute $30. So total for that flight is $140. Then add up all the amounts for all the flights and we make the donation (small it may be, but just a nice gesture, I feel). Ppl, keep the ideas coming......and oh yea, we have a big surprise on the donation part! Will be revealed along the way...

Correct mah. Based on mloy's scoring, the higher the better. So if one scores 40 pts, Yr opponent donates $40 to charity. So more birdies and pars, higher score, opponent donate more. Paiseh if not clear. Still working on it.

| Oh, sorry... Simpler model. We fight banker player style loh. So before tee off, call the bets on the tee box. Hole by hole. | |

| Asahi, simple, base is $4 per hole
So first team to tee off, each player of the team gets to call.
Team A player 1 tees off and he can choose to double the bets. Team A player 2 tees off and he can choose to double the bets, the same with team B both players.
So every time a player doubles, the bets doubles. So if all the player doubles, the hole will now be $4 x 5 times. And we can also add if a team birdies, the total bets will double again, and eagle triple. Interesting???
