any more request for any special exercise to strengthen a particular part of your body?
And basic theory of exercising. If you want to strengthen a muscle, make sure you work on the synergistic and antagonistic muscle as well and not just the prime movers.
In layman's term, all the supporting muscles of the movement should be worked so that there are no weakest links.
All the opposing action muscles must be worked so that you do not have postural problem that would could make you prone to injury. Your body would also limit your growth once you are overly unbalanced to prevent injury.
Do speed training(lighter weight but move as fast as possible in explosive manners).
Some of the better speed trainings are clean and jerk, snatches and power cleans. Go youtube and search for them
Look out for exercises in Golf Channel and those magazines like golf digest too...
Pros go to gyms and do weights for a reason

Thank you for the suggestions. Sounds good. I will give it a try.
Side track a little bit: Are there instructors available for golf fitness? Where to find them?
Hi Rocky,
I just learnt that Allen Kelly (aka Shorthitter) is also a Golf fitness trainer, he studied under www.kellyblackburn.com. And now he is waiting for approval to use Laguna gym. One of his programs is to conduct group fitness like aerobics but using weighted golf clubs...
You may want to consult him for golf related fitness training.
Cheers, Moon

Golf fitness programmes besides those mentioned by Moon:
Tan Tock Hospital
KH Phoon (Katong shop house)
Pilates-the-Studio (Gyrotonics) --Bukit Timah Plaza and Keppel Club
Some freelance pilates instructors also have golf-specific exercises programmes.
FYI, Mitch Chilson at Sky Fitness is my personal trainer (he is also Zaw Moe & LCB's personal trainer), but I dun have time recently to see him anymore even tho I am still a member at Sky Fitness.
Mitch and a few other PTs at Sky Fitness have taken up golf as Mitch was certified by the Titleist Performance Institute in America earlier this year.

Seems like sunny have alot of knowledge on fitness/ strength training, are u in fitness/healthcare line??
To me the word core is used here as the meaning of mid section, there are 4 core muscles in our mid section. unless u hv a weakness in that area, it is not really necessary to train them...
The exercises shown here indirectly work the core muscles. You do not actively control the 4 core muscles in these exercises.

core muscles are stabilising muscles and you should train them as stabilisers and not do things like crunches etc. Thus russian twists, the abs rolling exercise is good as they force your core muscle to stabilise you and keep you from losing balance.
You can also try to do your normal gym routine differently. Instead of bench presses, do single hand dumbbell press etc to make your core muscles stabilise your body. You will have more functional strength. Muscles are functionals and training are specific. Thus doing a lot of leg presses would never help you to squat heavy. doing a lot of lats pull down doesn't help you much with pull ups... There are some carry over strength but minimal. Best to train for your specific exercise.
Another thing...I do not advocate swinging extra weight, heavier clubs as training also. MLB and NBA had invested a lot of money on training and research. They do not train basketballers or baseball players by using a iron ball or iron bat for the same reason. It just screw up your normal game. If you start to train with heavier clubs, you better play with heavier clubs for your actual game too. If not it just doesn't work as our muscles isn't meant to disassociate the training with actual
Best to gain strength and speed is thru specific strength and weight training routines. Do Tiger train with weights? Yes. Lorena? Yes. Nuff said.

the resistant bends are what i would advocate as they can train more specific movements which dumbbells cannot

I got my from Changi Hospital! That's right, I don't seem to find any sports shop that carries them; their equivalent is the resistance ropes from the top fitness brands that comes with a proper handles at both ends.

It will help if you mix dumbbells and resistant bands, the resistance is slightly different. understand the difference and you can maximise the training.
