My account just got hacked and I lost over USD1000.
Currently under investigation. Sigh....

Lesson learnt : Transfer your money to a bank immediately and never leave it in Paypal.

think safer to use credit card payment via paypal..

My overseas clients pay me via paypal. Left a certain sum in there.
Someone claimed all of it through a Mass Payment transaction.
Now under investigation.

Can paypal prove that the account was hacked thru cyber attack or the fraudster managed to crack/obtain your password and login to ur account as you normally would?

From what the rep told me, the person managed to obtain access into my mailbox, thereby spoofing a paypal email and obtained my login credentials. Then sent the payment to himself apparently. This whole thing is mind boggling... and frustrating.
