PostSubject: Project "Red Devil" and "White Knight"   Project "Red Devil" and "White Knight" I_icon_minitimeThu Mar 03, 2011 9:34 am

Just wanna share a small little project of mine, i call them "Red Devil" and "White Knight"

The main motivation of this project is my 'hiao-ness', and after seeing Frostee's new toy, I was thinking maybe I can share mine also...keke

There it goes : 'Red Devil'

The original before transforming into 'Red Devil', it looks like this :

Project "Red Devil" and "White Knight" Dsc04210

and the head look like these :

Project "Red Devil" and "White Knight" Dsc04211
Project "Red Devil" and "White Knight" Dsc04212
Project "Red Devil" and "White Knight" Dsc04213

Here is the transformation process :

1. I removed the head, remove all paint, and fill it up with 'RED'

Project "Red Devil" and "White Knight" 01_hea10
Project "Red Devil" and "White Knight" 04_red10
Project "Red Devil" and "White Knight" 05_red10
Project "Red Devil" and "White Knight" 06_red10

2. The shaft was change too, but use back the original grip. For Frostee, the shaft is a steel shaft, as you can see the prep portion on the shaft tip

Project "Red Devil" and "White Knight" 07_red10
Project "Red Devil" and "White Knight" 08_wit10

3. Putting all these together and presenting 'Red Devil'
The paint fill was coated 3 times, to ensure that the 'Red' last longer, a very fine sandpaper (500 bits) were used to give a smoother surface on the sole.

Project "Red Devil" and "White Knight" 13_red10
Project "Red Devil" and "White Knight" 18_clo10
Project "Red Devil" and "White Knight" 20_wit10

As 'White Knight' is still waiting for one very important component to be fly over from US, I will post up 'White Knight' once it is done up.

Btw, I'm still struggling whether should I call it as "White Knight" or "White Angel"....since I have the 'devil'...hmmm...any suggestion ?..

Thank you for viewing

Wow, a true blue golf fanatic. nice but not for me. As my Kung Fu not good enough, showy equipment will only make people laugh off their socks. Smile

So are you gonna shaft in a Fubuki Alpha for your white project?

Pretty good! I bet you after this will be to treat your clubs to a different finish.

I found the white putter from TM has a pretty lame paint quality. It peels off easily.

haha..I think you might need the following :

1. aceton : to remove original paint

2. sandpaper : go to DIY shop, ask for very fine sandpaper, on the back of the sandpaper, there is usually indication on brits...i use 500 brits..the higher the number, the more fine it is, 500 brits is what i would think the minimum i would accept, anything lower than 500 brit, it too rough. When performing the sanding, apply light force. Once done, use aceton to clean the surface.

3. Paintfill, i use Tamiya paint, where i bought from Kiddy Palace. before use, shake the paint well, then use cotton bug to dip lightly into the pain and apply to the where you want it to be. Once done, let it dry..i usually leave it there over night. Once dry, use normal nail polish remover to remove the excess paint. Dun use aceton to remove the excess. I do 3 coating, so this process need to be repeat 3 times.

Enjoy !!...keke

To me, the red shaft is kinda too much. It'll probably look better if the whole head is painted red. It's just me, though...

I painted a grapghite shaft long ago. I don't know if it's just me but the shaft felt kinda funny after. I sent it to a car body painting shop, one of the best there was locally. Did a great paint job on the shaft, though...

Hi bro, that sounds good.

For the shaft I'm using, it's a steel shaft that originally come with the red coating. You can find more infor about the coated shaft from Vibrant Golf website.

Cheers

Did you paint the shaft yourself? Looks good...

There are people here that do it professionally, and i *almost* got a smoke black shaft to go with my black ox putter.

Check out this link

edit: oops, i just realize you already know about Vibrant Golf lol.. gotta learn how to read the whole thread before replying next time.
