"Sand-Green" Golf Courses

We came across this type of golf while browsing online at golf courses in the States and it was so interesting. Sand-Green golf courses are usually in very local and rural places - there are only an estimated 100 or so left in the USA, mainly in the Great Plains (states like Nebraska, etc.). Very cool, looks like a nice way to get into the game of golf??? What do you all think??

Don't forget course like Torrey pines and pebble beach are public courses as well.
Eventhough the prices are not that cheap

Ya, I noticed courses in the USA have a lot of different rates... Rates for residents of the specific county/city/town, then rates for residents of the state, then rates for everyone else! Green fees can differ a lot!
