Don't buy another driver until you check this out

Dear GRians,

the news from tour is there are lots of tour players switching after the majors. from the media who have gotten this just weeks ago, the verdict is a driver that cannot go too much stray and deliver longer distances.

without much ado, here's how the new Optiforce looks like at BFG this evening. demo is available after 1 pm tomorrow and as its a new adaptor that allows for loft and face changes, its in my favourite Fubuki Alpha for now.

so here goes and please be reminded that you have been warned about the effects of examining this......



the magic is in the sole and it is supposed to increase club head speed with its aerodynamic design and hence the longer distance. at address, it looks very pleasing to the eye and the shape has an updated modern look compared to the Razr Fit and the previous FT series.....



the configuration is very clever to cut down SKU....440 in original 9.5 degree loft but it can be adjusted 2 degree either way and 460 in 10.5 and again it can be adjusted 2 degree either way.



this is rumoured to be designed and developed at Callaway Innovation Centre in Halam University, Sheffield and the centre where many break-through Callys are developed...it looks just like a cyclist helmet......

from every angle, it looks like a very well designed and precise piece of instrument....



it reminds me of a trophy and i can forsee many golfers having this advantage in their bag.

 The adaptor has got N/S one go North the other go South is it?

 Any way beautiful head like you say looks like aero dynamic  cycling Time Trial helmet.

It is light, but definitely not slack. It feel like a lighter version of the extreme fit

Yes, I agree with your comment on XHot as I have also demoed it in Panwest OCC once. It is like TM Burner ... grip it and rip ... The ball will fly ... Whether it flies to the direction u desire is another issue altogether ...

if you have not tried one, you might not get the chance.

latest news in, the Optiforce is completely sold out in the US where the biggest stockade lies. Callaway have discovered that the demand of the Optiforce have far outweigh the supply. The tour reps underestimated the tour conversion, so even pros are left out.

last and most importantly, there will be no more production of these babies. possibly due to the high cost involved in manufacturing and/or they are sticking to their new product launch plans which i was told is now scheduled up to 2015.

also on tour and commercial count, Callaway have improved leaps and bounds in the last 2 years and i am sure under the new CEO, they will continue to stay ahead.

for those who have booked your Optiforce, rest assured your patience will pay off this week.

I had a chance to try this driver when I was playing in Tanah Merah a few days ago.  Stock standard shaft, it is already good enough.  I got a chance to tinker with it for a little bit last night and took it to the course this morning.  Put in my third-best shaft for a tryout and made it up to my spec.  I was blown away...
