Putting - Lost the feel

I'm using a ping answer putter. It's called a blade putter right? Quite light and simple kind, but my putting no feel of ball.

1) does it work better with heavier ones?
2) does heavier ones means those mallet kinds?

When I started this thread, my putting was 3 to 4 strokes per hole. Now I do no more than 36 strokes per game. Not great but I am happy with the improvement.  I changed to a mallet putter with a long line along the head for visual aid. I practice putting almost every day at home. Making sure I rolled the ball in a straight line and pace the ball with the collect strength.  I practice at the practice green every weekend to see the results on the real putting turf.

36 strokes per game is a good effort, ave no more than 2 putts per hole ...
