Hi all,

Have a noob question.. What determines the flex of a shaft?

Eg. Weight = 60g Torque = 4.5 Flex = R
Weight = 60g Torque = 4.5 Flex = S

Whats the diff?

Can be known as the deflection or the bending profile of the shaft..measure by every 7 inch..
This is what I know.

flex of shaft is measured by CPM.

but different manufacturers may classify or label the stiffness of their shafts at different ranges.

you can read this article for more details if technical details interests you. but DGman or another club fitter might be able to explain all this better and with more details.

Torque has more to do with the twisting of the shaft, whereas flex relates to bend
