Callaway Diablo Octane Driver or PING G15 Driver?

Hi all,
I’m a newbie who just started January this year.

Wondering which is a better driver? Callaway Diablo Octane or PING G15.
Heard from some Callaway Diablo Octane Driver is the latest model with new technology (Forged Composite) while PING G15 Driver has launched in the market for 2 years. I tried on both demo doesn’t seem much difference to me as a beginner. Loft 10.5* Reg Jap spec.

I don’t understand why G15 is still so ex compared to a brand new model Diablo Octane.

The G15 is a great driver. There's a reason as to why it's still ex. It's a well-built piece of equipment

base on your description, since you dun see much difference between both clubs, then i think it would be rational to get the cheaper one and yet the latest model...

personally, i felt both are good driver and it's really on the golfer's part to demostrate the full potential of the clubs...if not, then you could be just wasting money to buy a driver and yet not able to release it's full potential...something like ROI...haha !!!

I vote for G15.

I owned both both before.

Sold my diablo after 1.5 months, and my G15 is still here. Just got my G20 last week.

Between the 2, it will always be G15 for me.

I heard Ping will come out with G20.

if you cant wait, I believe Diablo Octane Driver will be a better choice.

i believed Callaway & TaylorMade a better value than Ping speically when you want to disposed it in the future.

Ping drivers retain their value much longer than Callaway and Taylormade.

But since you mention you can't tell the difference between the two, and don't understand why Ping is higher priced, I believe you should get the Callaway driver due to its lower price.

The G20s are already out. Golf House has them.

Seems like there are more supporters for G15 and not many speak highly of Diablo Octane.

i had the opportunity to borrow and use a ping G15 driver once before. Somehow, my driver shots went shooting off the tees... It was the best driver performance i've had in my game so far (not very long though, like half a year of learning?) I was very impressed with it.

But I just bought the diablo octane. Will be getting to know my new beast soon. XD

Quality wise I believe G15 should be better ... I think I'm the last few who purchased a NEW G15 after the G20 came out ... Only bought this like a week ago... No regrets ... If I have the money, I'll buy the G20 also ....

Came across a PING G15 Asian spec. Is Asian spec the same as Jap spec? What shaft is use on G15 10.5 Reg?

Asian = Jap specs.
The stock shaft should be TFC300D

Diablo Octane Driver... i personally prefer a slightly smaller hitting area. I think both clubs are just as good and u have to admit Ping is more mentioned due to its popularity. Try hitting a few more balls... at the end of the day... we all have different preferance feel to the club.

Have been using Diablo Octane 10.5 with project X for half a year. It is very forgiving and very long too. The head is very ight and allows you to swing faster with the 46" shaft. Highly recommended.

the ping g15 is a very nice driver.if u dont mind paying more, i recommend u to go for the g20.
otherwise get the g15 and upgrade the shaft at BFG..u will enjoy the game more

The Ping G15 is wonderful. Unassuming design but ball is really hot off the face and the drives are long. Never regretted getting mine.

The G15 is a nice driver. Classic look and feel, and quite forgiving.

I stand by my G15 driver, for players of all level.

Agreed with Ryan. Tried his g15 and hit about 220m.
Still wondering how he drive 280+m

Not to mention that the sound from a G15 is orgasmic..

G15 is great driver, nice sound, nice feel on hit, I don't drive as far could be my swing speed is not as high and I am using stiff shaft. I drive bout 170. I tried G10 & 5, TM9 and none gave the same feel

If you know your swing speed and it's not in the 95+ mph range, why are you still on a stiff? I'm willing to bet you'd get more mileage for your buck if you invested in a R or SR shaft...
