| In my previous life, we use to profile clients and consumers because it allows us to speak their language and achieve better communication context.
basically there are 4 types of people and we group them by colour and characteristic:
1. Blue - the "don't tell me what i need" bossy type
He/she is likely to only like to listen to themselves and make their own decision. if they like what they see they will buy but most likely they want what others do not have cos it makes them feel special.
at work - he or she will have a cluttered table at times but mostly filled with documents to show their importance. A picture on the wall will be photo with a famous person.
2. Green - the "i need to know everything to make a calculated decision" process-oriented type
This person is most likely to have visited every website, gone through the second hand market before making a choice of what it best to buy (not necessary what suits them). they will ask the most question and may have even make a mental or physical spread sheet listing buying price, second hand prices, do a SWOT analysis, ask the whole world before settling on a decision.
at work - a very clean and orderly table, unlikely to have picture and every document must be colour code and neatly stacked.
3. Yellow - the "i must be the first person to have those clubs" love to be the centre of attention type
he is most likely to click on "What's new or Coming" on a golf website and will not spare any thought on cost when buying. if its out in the market, he/she will not be interested to buy. when selling clubs, don't care what price cos he would rather be seen dead than those 6 months old club.
at work - totally cluttered table, picture on wall 'him/herself against a famous foreign landmark or expensive car or a michelin star restaurant and plus those certificate to show qualifications.
4. Red - the "i only buy what my friends use and family approved" group decision making type.
he/she is most likely to bring his entire family including non-playing wife, mother, father and maid to the golf shop. the grip colour must be approved by his wife, colour of bag after a family discussion and quote that his friend bought at a certain price.
at work - a must is family photo with everyone in, mostly likely more than one picture.
of course its not a straight category profile, some of us have a little of each and more of some. And the complexity change from time to time depending on your job and environment.
when i did the test years ago, i score almost perfect weighting in all four categories which make me a complex personality..haha
So which type are you will determine how you look at new clubs, when to buy them and how you come to a decision.
hope it helps.

PS - if you don't like this, too bad cos its the end of the post liao.

| women prefer their husband to use black grips...its less obvious and not so hiao...
i had a customer who changed to red grips, got scolding from wife and came back to change to black grips.
in the business i have seen everything...eg a customer pay part cash and part credit card...i look at him and asked "you think your wife do the same when she buy the LV handbag???"
