The 50 f/1.4 isn't an expensive lens. In fact, I not because of my D3100 (which I'm selling), I'd have picked up the AF-D version instead of the AF-S one thT I have at the moment :p

You know what they say about lending camera equipment - spoils a friendship.

Besides, if you're shooting with a DSLR, this is one of the few lenses that costs less than the body, and if you're shooting this on a DX, you're better off using the 35mm as it behaves more like a 50mm. The 50mm crops like a 75mm on a DX body

Even more lucky - I just found out that lenses for Canon are cheaper (except for the L series lenses)
