| I've realized that with the introduction of hybrids, people (especially newbies like myself) are dispensing with the need for long irons. I'm keen, however, to know what is the longest iron you carry in your bag. I know that there are golfers who still pack the 2i (Corn, Sunny?). What's yours? | |

| Mine's a 5i. Got a 3 & 4 hybrid that I can hit much easier than the long irons i've tried. | |

| I use to be on the hybrid but now training hard on my long irons, especially my 3 iron.. reason being if i top a shot on a hybrid and a 3 iron, my 3 iron tend to go abit longer and straighter...... | |

You are spot-on, Duffy. I realized that too. A topped-shot on an iron goes less wayward than a hybrid!

And the 3 iron gives me a wide variety of shots as compared to the hybrid... maybe my swing is just not suitable to hit hybrid. I really admire people who can play hybrid on par 3s and still manage to get the ball to stop. I tried so many times even flying it high, still cannot stay, so end of day, cannot avoid the practise on the long irons.

Bro Duffy, then on 17th I hope to demo what you cant achieve. On Par3 with hybrid, my ball will stop.. once it hit water ....................and then disappear.

| My ball stops too. Thick rough usually helps out. | |

| The 2 iron is still in my bag. Have tried various rescue or hybrid clubs and find them very easy to hit indeed. The only setback I faced with these clubs are such that the ball flight did not appeal to me (less penetrating). Perhaps is just me as I am still very comfortable and more importantly confident in the 2 iron. | |

| Haha. Me in the minority. Longest being 6 iron. Hybrid will do nicely for me after this iron. | |

| I carry the 5i but I typically use it to punch balls out from the rough more than anything else | |

| Longest is 4i, still not confident to hit well so only used sometimes for Par 3 (can tee up) or if wanna try for fun when hole is not hazardous or just feeling crazy/over-confident...
most recent use, was 'gay-kiang' (act smart) and use in fairway bunker - end up duffed the ball and found the ball in the same bunker again.. zzzzzz. should have used my 4hybrid instead..
