Lee Westwood not playing in US PGA next season

Question: If he only play in Europe, does it mean he will be at a disadvantage to clock the world ranking points?

depends on how many tournament in Europe that is counted into the world ranking.
I think it will definitely take a hit as I believe most of US big tournament count into world ranking. He played so well on the Ryder cup, wondering why he does not want to play in US.

aiya, he is probably pissed off that he was really unfortunate this year... he was so close in all the majors... i feel bad for him... i hope he would change his mind... he is a really good golfer...

yes, playing in europe will affect his charge for the world number 1 status as european tour events do not carry as much points as the PGA ones. Read that he wants to spend more time with his family and not travel so often. Guess we will only see him play the 3 majors

Its was quoted in golf channel that if he doesn't play golf next 2 weeks, he would be world no 1. But he has to play in scotland right after ryders cup. So near, yet so far for him. For him, i dont think he concerned about the ranking when he has already earning top dollar and playing in european earns just as much. on the hind side, USD is dropping anyway, he would probably earn less comparing to earning in euro.
