| hopefully the song 'keep the fire burning' will be a good hint to many of my age group....
So how does one 'keep the fire burning' for golf and continue to play this game ?
I had personally seen some of my frens...that came and gone. Very enthusiatic initially but then fade away. I had also seen fren that very lousy initially and became quite seasoned and good....and then still fade away I had seen fren that fren that not good at all, and then after awhile still not good (according to his benchmark) , and then fade away
so what keeps one playing this game?
Could it be the 59 score?
could it be the losing too much to kakis till need to sell clubs ...hahaha ?
PS: don tell anyone my secret, I am also trying to find out.......

Anyway, I'm too much a newbie to comment
Just wanna hijack the thread to ask for help. (May I? Pretty please )
I would like to jio my colleague BACK to golf, but how to do it!? Thanks in advance (rest assured I'll keep my comments to myself lol)
[/quote] assuming that fren of yours is gal. Then 1. Does your fren like macho men with inhumane six packs? 2. Does your fren like stylo men who swings golf clubs oozzing with style and a sense of calmness? 3. Does your fren like some one who is aggressive, who goes for incredible shots which only her mind can imagine? 4. Does your fren like someone who has great personality so as to have an incredible laughing time on golf course? If yes, then I am not the one

PS: don tell anyone my secret, I am also trying to find out....... it is hard to keep the fire burning.... maybe by setting target i.e. break 90 may help. and consistently go for lesson, fix every problem that you have thru proper video analysis.. at least for me, it is watching myself swing in the video and fixing my swing problem that keeps me going... i remember telling my coach, i dont mind distance but i want a damn good looking swing. DAMN Good looking swing = my target

I did Archery for 5 years, was a SEA GAme Captain in 83. Thereafter I took up cycling road bike, have on it since than already 26 years. Still going strong!!! Avery cycle 250 to 300km weekly Took up golf in 1992 after 6 months of going to range without going to green I finally gave up! Than one day in 1999 my brother who took up golf invited me to Poresia first trime I lost 20 golf balls.. That's a challenge to myself that next time I won't lose too many golf ball at Poresia, so I join the Club!! Although I started out without any Pro instructor, my brother who is quite good has been guiding me, and we played Blue tee weekday I was stressed out b'cos all of them out drive me by 50 m everytime... As time goes by I watch video on swing, putting, short game, the correct swing etc, visit range regularly, today I out drive my brother and his frens, having playing together since 1999. 150 yds I used 7 iron my fren uses hybrid, he called me iron man...my score has improved.....we play weekday Blue... My driver swing also changed and I am able to drive across the Blue at Sakura and Orchid @ Poresia without any problem. This gives me the Fire to go every week for the challenge....One must have the endurance to stay in the Game, stamina, preservance, love of the sports! cheers

| Phwah.. MissMoon and iron eagle... solid.. RESPECT!!! For me the fire not really burning, but still "playing golf" lah. When kenna dragged to shopping; always fun to make excuse to get away from the wife, to look at golf stuff; buy more golf crap. Then the golf games...are but excuses to get away for 5-6hrs, tcss, drink myself silly, refresh the old aching body with after game massages..... And can also plan for golf vacations with my kaki's where the wives wouldn't go............. The golf??? Secondary. | |
